Second week of vegetation has started with me raising the light up, so that the ppfd is reduced as I can't dim the cheap chinese burple light I'm using. As this seems to be a rather big problem, not only now but also for the future I've gone ahead and ordered a Mars Hydro TS1000 to replace it. Not being able to regulate a light that puts out ~700 ppfd a whole meter above the plants is rather ridiculous, but this light could still proove useful somewhere later, so I don't write it off as a total loss yet. Day 15 and I changed the watering method for now to irrigating the soil with a spray-bottle a couple times a day. I'm basically making it rain and let the soil soak up the water little by little, but watering more overall than before. To help with the light-situation I'm not switching off the blurple light for 15 minutes every other hour. This basically reduces the time from 18 to 16 hours, but the two white LED-tubes are still on, so that it doesn't get completely dark and not to create any more stress to the plants than necessary. The plants look good overall, but a bit light in colour and as you can see with plant 2 the leaves are still drooping downwards a little. Let's hope the changes made will improve the situation with them ladies not really wanting to grow. Day 16 and still no big change in growth. Plant 3 seeing the most growth of them three ladies, while plant 2 has developed a little brown spot in addition to it being a little lighter in colour than the other two. Plant 1 and 3 are looking healthy though. They all three grow rather different under the same conditions. It's quite interesting to see the differences. I just wish they would grow a little faster, so that you could actually see some progress happening at a glance instead of needing a macro-lens. As the day before I made it rain with my spray-bottle wetting the top-soil in addition to some 50ml water around the plants. Today, day 17, my Mars Hydro TS-1000 got delivered and I wasted no time installing it to replace the cheap chinese blurple light. Now I'm able to adjust the intensity of the light just as is needed and in addition the TS-1000 runs without noisy fans. I installed the light 90cm/36" above the plants and reduced the poweroutput to a level where my PAR-meter showed ~450 PPFD at the plant-level, which should be plenty for the current state of the plants and less stressful than the ~700 PPFD they got blasted with before. The plants actually started to show some growth, which I guess is down to my new approach to watering and reducing the light-intensity I started two days ago. If we look cloesely we can actually see some additional leafs forming on all three plants now. Also the top-leafs on all three plants grew noticably in size. Day 18 doesn't see much growth, as usual with my plants it seems, but plant 2 has developed a clear brown spot. I also got the feeling that the plants are a little lighter in colour as they should be. As I think that I got the watering and the light-intensity sorted it's now time to think about the nutrients I guess. The soil I'm using is pre-fertilized (N 1300 mg/kg, P 840 mg/kg, K 4200 mg/kg) so I didn't want to add anything else right away, but I think it's time to especially add some nitrogen. So I went and bought some organic nutrient-mix. This stuff is no special juice for cannabis-plants, but has the necessary ingredients for all kinds of plants and I don't need to special order it, but can buy it for a couple bucks in the next supermarket gardening section. It's ingredients read: nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, sulfur, boron, copper, iron, manganese and zinc. I'll start using this stuff the next time I water the plants, which should be on saturday. Day 19. The ladies don't look too well. They get lighter in colour and plant 3 has also started to develop a brown patch like plant 2 allready did. All information I can find is very confusing. Some say it's too much and some say it's too little light. Too much water or too little water and nutrients. So far I've been rather conservative and didn't want to water too much and drown the plants, don't burn them with too much light or feed them too early, etc. But I think it's time to get more agressive and see if that changes anything. So I lowered the light down to 60cm above the plants blasting at ~650 PPFD and I watered the plants with some added nutrients. Let's see if that improves things and makes the ladies more happy. Day 20 and I've done nothing, but refill the humidifier. I'll simply sit and wait what happens now. I've ordered some perlite, vermiculite and mycorrhiza, but this stuff won't be here for atleast a week. So it's really more in preparation for the next attempt, if these plants don't recover. Day 21 and I've again done nothing but observe and refill the humidifier. The plants are growing bigger, but they're also getting more pale and yellowish/limegreen. I guess watering them with a little splash of nutrients two days ago wasn't the right answer and allthough I think I was watering them rather little I start to agree with those who told me that I'm overwatering. Lessons learned and mental note written for the future.

@Wimskeweed, I received my MarsHydro TS1000 today and lost no time replacing the cheap chinese blurple light with it. Much better control over the PPFD and in addition it's silent. We'll see if things improve. I've now set the TS1000 up 90cm/36" above the plants and dimmed it down to ~450 PPFD. New images will be posted later today.

Good Luck! @Blarw I think you have got overwatetring problem rottening roots that also causes nitrogen deficiency.

1. She looks like she can use some nitrogen although you’ve already added fertilizer in the soil. Even at week 2, soil doesn’t need feeding but your plant looks pale. 2. The light is too far you need to bring it down to less than 2 feet. You have a XS1000, you can definitely bring it down to less than 2 feet. 3. Your soil is too wet. You don’t want to oversoak the pot because your plant is too young and roots haven’t not developed yet. It’ll become root bound. The rule is to water a bit more than the size of the plant. Once it starts to grow well, that’s when you start to water the entire pot. Make sure to have at least 10-20% drainage. 4. Every one telling you it’s cal mag is not cal mag. You grow in soil. Soil has cal mag already. If you grew in coco, then it could use some but even then it’s too early to have those symptoms already. 5. For soil, your pH should be around 6.5. 6. General rule for soil grow: you will feed every other watering. 7. Buy some root enhancers such as Mykos. It has mycorrhizae , it’s fungus and it will help with root growth. 8. Your temperature is really low for young plants. You want it around 75-80F. You do the conversion. 9. Cheers.

@MaryJaneUSA, Thanks for the detailed comment. So far I have have tried to water as little as possible. I only give the plants some 100ml/half a cup of water every other day really. I even suspect that the soil in the bottom of the pot is dry so far as I've never completely soaked the soil to begin with. The light I've allready lowered down to two feet now and increased it's intensity. So that should help I hope. As for temperature... living in Finland where it's still freezing over night outside it's rather difficult to heat it up as much and I allready have a radiator placed next to the tent to get it to 22°C/72°F. Soil and water should be ok pH wise. I used some teststrips to measure and it comes down to between 6-7 pH. The strips aren't too precise ofc. So far I've used only things readily available to me from the local shops, besides the tent, growlight and seeds which I had to order online. For the next attempt I'll probably order soil, nutrients and whatnot from BioBizz, but for now I try to keep the current plants alive with what I have at hand.

@Wimskeweed, Yeah, it's not going too well unfortunately. The leaves are pale and start yellowing. I just leave the plants alone for now and hope they'll recover somehow during the next few days, but I'm prepared to call them an unsuccesful attempt aswell. I have three other seed-packages to try a new growth with slightly modified conditions, if the cuurent crop fails.

@Blarw, I say because, I had almost the same case. 4 seeds, turned lime green to almost bright yellow. But they all bounced back. I moved them away from light, gave a bit of A & B and somehow they came back to life. hope thats the case here as well. Good luck

@APOLLO, I don't actively kill the plants ofcourse. The lights are on a timer and I refill the humidifier, but other than that there's nothing I can really do at the moment.

This diary is now closed down, as no further progress/development has happened over the last week. The plants simply did not develop, for reasons unclear to me.
