I'm very excited about this grow number 5. This is the first seed of the 6 Cherry bomb, auto-fem from MSG. His last 3 cherry bomb didn't grow, so this a nice redemption. This is a nice Indica. I'm using a compostable 2 ounce container. Perhaps in 2-5 weeks I'll move her outside to my greenhouse and into a 4 gallon container. It depends on the weather. Only took 5 days to germinate. 1 day of soaking in a shot glass of distilled water. 2 days on a paper towel and 2 days underground. I kept the seed warm on a radio. I kept the seed humid inside a bag, while underground.
I've moved a bunch of other stuff in the grow room outside so now I've got room to move her closer to the light this will help with the stretch. For now she's going to remain in the 2 ounce cardboard, compostable cup. Eventually I'll transplant to the 4 gallon container. It will be fine to do this with an auto because the container is compostable. Only the first set of leaves is showing.
She needs to be transplanted soon. I'm completely outdoors now. I need a little bit more dirt and some clover in order to put her in the forever home of a 4 gallon pot.
She was starting to show a little root, so it was time to move the compostable container into a 4 gallon pot with clover all around. It has been cold this week.
I took some before and after pictures of the topping of this plant. The first topping is the cutting off the third node. The cut needs to be made between the second and the third nodes.
Fantastic it has finally got warm. Today was the last day of frost. It is not ready for a second topping. I'm a few days late on this diary. Week 6 and not flowering yet and not very tall. I love Indica.
Not ready for topping. Finally nice and warm. Getting lots of compost tea. Roughly 3 more weeks until flower stage. Not sure if I should stay in the green house and not sure if topping is helping.
I did eventually top. She will stay in the green house because Cherry Bomb hasn't flowered yet. It got really cold again, here in Michigan it is 39 degrees at night.
Since Cherry Bomb hasn't flowered yet, I was able to do some topping after these pictures were taken. I've bumped her height up to 18 inches. She got moved outside because I got a bumble bee attracted to the clover.
At the last minute found some nice sites to top. Cherry bomb hasn't hit flower yet, so ok to top her. No bugs got on this plant. Weather is windy and cold at night.
I've become convinced that she is a photo and not an auto. Therefore I've started cloning the tops. 2 of them are in dirt outside with no root powder. There is one in the green house with root powder. The outside plants got watered for the first time in weeks as it didn't rain for 3 days. After a few more days I'll attempt some more tops/clones. Note 3 more clones and I'll be up to 12 plant legal limit. I measured and Cherry bomb is 35 inches tall.
I'm assuming she's in flower now and grown about 4 inches from last week. She's pretty thirsty and I'm giving a full 8 ounces of compost tea everyday it doesn't rain.
Here are the clones I've got left. As soon as I found out, by observation, that Cherry Bomb was a photo instead of an auto I started the cloning process.
I attempted to get scope pictures. I'm seeing about 30% amber on the Cherry Bomb. Of course most of these are out of focus so really hard to tell. I think about 3 more weeks.
Looks like still waiting. I could take this inside in about 11 days. Last year I had to go inside at October 7. Since Cherry Bomb is in a pot I could take her to the basement for growing under the grow lights or in the green house for another month. Also I could harvest her and let her revegetate. Not sure since I've got a few Cherry Bomb clones and I might not have the room inside for her.
