Placed the seed between 2 soaked cotton balls in a shot glass.placed in a 2-sided corner window. We got snow and the window was a little cold ... Nothing for 5 days. I checked on day 8 and there was a root! I waited 2 more days and transferred it to the peat pellet on 1/18/21
4/7/21:
FYI... When I started this diary, Marilyn had been in the bubble bucket (about 2 weeks ago). Which was about a month after she sprouted...So I'm trying to catch up...she was in the cold window for about a month I took pics, but I think the got deleted... Nothing remarkable to note. She was skinny about 3" tall and had about 6-8 leaves (3-4 pairs) before I transferred her from the soil pellet into the Deep Water Culture bubble bucket set up that she is now in.
I had finally found my Maiicy 225 LED grow light ($28 from ebay) that the hubby packed away when we moved, and I re-purposed a 35 lbs. dry pet food container with wheels to use as a bubble bucket and bought a cheap aquarium air pump ($8) from Walmart with some air tubing ($2) and a 4-inch air stone ($3)... I also bought a mylar thermal tent from the camping section for about $4 , and sliced it open to line the walls.
My grow room is actually a toilet closet. If I had to guess I'd say its about 3 1/2 ft wide by 6ft long . half of thr space is basically for the door to open, and i figured it had the potential to be an excellently safe & controlled environment: I can keep the 2 dogs and 2 cats out of it. And since I use the bathroom everyday, I don't have to remember to check on Marilyn. It does have a built-in fan in the ceiling that works. But I use a desk fan to blow on the plant for about an hour every other day to strengthen the stems.
I leave the light on 24/7
During the 1st week after putting Marilyn in the bubble bucket... I only gave her half of the recommended solution... I did want to shock her to death... It took her about a week before I started to see daily changes. Once I saw the growth daily... I doubled the solution to the recommended dose and wow... She is starting to take off!
