GreenSun Well, it is spring time. .
This strain was on my wish list last year, and now it is time to see how Gelato taste like.
After 24 hours in glass of water and 48 hours in paper towel both seeds germinated strong. One dropped her helmet already, the other one is little bit shy.

GreenSun After 48 hours both seedlings came out. One is already free of helmet, the other one will maybe need some help. They are in small 4 dcl pots, if the sun will be too strong, some tin foil for cooling the roots will help.
Watering every day, just to keep them humid.
Day 3
Both seedlings are doing well.
No2 is still struggling after removing her helmet manually. I have high hopes for her, she is fighting strong.
Day 7
Plants are going very slow. This is one of the slowest starts I have seen. But otherwise, they look healthy and I hope they will bounce back in the next week.
GreenSun Second week, with cold and rainy weather. Even snow and freezing temperatures. During the night, both plants are inside.
They are going steady, but slow, very slow. I do not blame them, in this weather, with almost no sun..
Day 14
Both plants are still going very slow. Well, there was almost no sun, cold weather, rain and even snow. Inside, by the window there is not enough light. I hope that is the reason for slow growth. But i have at the same time few other plants from different breeders. And those plant are going much faster. Maybe it is just Green Gelato pace.

GreenSun Day 19
Some hard times and almost no growth. So I decided to transplant No 1 and check out the roots on her. And there was the problem! Root sistem is very poor, so i put the plant in new 7 liter pot. Didn't press down the soil to allow the roots enough air and space for development. Will see in few days if that will solve the problem.
No 2 will get new home too, if her sister will improve in the next days.

GreenSun Day 25
Well, so far I'm disappointed. Both plants are going very, very slow and I just don't know why. I'm doing everything the same as with the other plants. I have never seen so lazy and poor start.
I go easy on the watering, adding some BioGrow, but no response from the plants. Even some nice sunny days in the last week didn't help. But I will not give up with those girls!
My two Green Gelato Auto are struggling in the firs 4 weeks. Very slow growth, leaves are going pale and yellow with some strange spots. I go easy on water (6.4 ph), adding some BioGrow in the last week. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks!
Autos have a predetermined life cycle if they have been stressed in anyway this can slow them down. Not too sure what the yellow spots could be maybe a nitrogen defiancy yellow is a big sign of that though I am a noob in soil growers im more of a hydro guy :) It may just be a bad seed but you find with most autos they start slow then when they get past the 4-5 week mark they explode into growth pretty dramatically well all the ones I run have been like that anyway hoping a better grower can give you better answers :)
GreenSun Day 33
Clouds, rain and wind in past week. Both plant are going still very slow. I left No 2 exposed to some windy weather by mine mistake. The stem got hurt, bent over and not looking good. She is still fighting, but any outcome is possible.
Overall, those two plants from RQS are the slowest and weakest in my humble garden. Let us see..

GreenSun Just no luck with those two girls. Well, No 1 did start to stretch a bit and produced some new leaves. But very slow. She is behind at least for 2 weeks.
No 2 is still fighting after broken stem last week. But she is still very small with no hopes to really mature well. There are moments when I just want to put her out of her misery. On the other hand, it will be interesting to see how resilient she is.

GreenSun No 1 is finally making some nice progres. Considering the weather in past week, she is doing good, but she is still at least two weeks behind.
No 2, well I put her out of her misery. After her stem got broken 10 days ago by the wind (my bad), she just went down. There was no chance to survive. I replaced her with new one. Fingers crossed.
Big sister is Banana Monkey by BulkSeedBank. She is amaze me day by day. Strong, bushy, flowers all around. Great strain!

GreenSun I have been waiting for one sunny day to take a photo of Green Gelato. Finally, today is that day. Almost two weeks of clouds and rain.
She is still in vegetation, so I did some LST and topped her. It is late, but there is nothing to loose much. I must say, after all of troubles and ultra slow growth in the first weeks, she is fine now. She will not be a giant, I don't mind.
Praise for the sun .🙏

GreenSun Finally, we have a first signs of flowering, on day 68. This plant is going late and stretchy. No bush at all, if you know what I mean. She is one of a kind full of surprises.
The oldest lady in my balcony is Banana Monkey Auto from BulkSeedBank. Beautiful developed, nice strong sweet smell. I'm very much satisfied with her.
And you know what? Cheep seeds are sometimes the best seeds. Highly recommending!

GreenSun Green Gelato is going on, day 88 and she is flowering for 3d week.
But I must admit, blame for bad progres for last 2 weeks is on me. I did a stupid mistake and a week ago. I left my AC running during the whole day, while I was away. Temperatures outside was 33 deg., in my balcony, where outside unit is, there was 40 deg. cca.
So girls got struck by big heat stress. Gelato took it bad, 30 % of fan leaves I got to remove. They were crispy. Other plants were little bit far away, so damage is smaller.
So for the last week I tried to be gentle with her, lots of water and not too hot sun. Considering this, she is doing fine.

GreenSun Well, this girl is a lady now. In full bloom, but still not finished. Buds are not big and dense as I'm used to. Scent is strong, kind of sweet and pungent. It is a week 15, for an Auto strain with lots of problems in the first stage and mine mistake, she came out nice.
Will left her for max 1 week. Last 3 days will be just water, no nutrients.
Gelato, you did well. Maybe my expectation were to big.
Good strain, fair enough.
This plant in early spring, just troubles. Took toooo long, slow. But fair harvest. Didn't weight it, but handsfull.
There is still one plant on the balcony,,, And this one is going on her own, right on schedule. Just water and some bio food. Low maintenance plant. And she will be full. Maybe some photos someday..
Another try with this strain? No.

GreenSun No harvest photos, sorry. I lost them, erased by mistake.
..just cant wait to hear from Dingle.. What a smoke will that be! Good Lord!
@@hillman,
Thanks mate, Banana Monkey is a beauty for real. But Gelato, lazy with strange pace. Hell, maybe she will surprise me in the end.
But your Sweet Tooth ladies, that's just amazing! Poetry for the eyes. 😲
@GreenSun, In case, for science purposes, you should find a way to give her "manual darkness" to force flowering as you would with a photoperiodic one :D And see if it works. FOR SCIENCE!
@Dingle_Dangle,
Yea, it crossed my mind to. I have never seen an auto going in this pace. But on the other hand, I wish that she will grow as much as possible, before flowering.
@Dingle_Dangle,
Yes, I saw your two girls. Something strange happened to them. OK, your weather stats are showing really cold and cloudy conditions, but absolutely no growth.. C'mon, that's funny. I saw similar thing, but not that bad with my sisters first grow. But that was in the middle of the winter on the window shelf. It looks like this strain just don't want cold weather. Let us take that as a lesson, and go big next time.
@Dingle_Dangle,
Yeah mate, surprises me too. And there are no signs of flowering.
This strain is strange. First 4 weeks almost nothing, fighting for life only. And now, steady growth with a lot of stretching. I would blame it on the weather, but if I compare Gelato with Banana monkey (BulkSeedBank)..? Same conditions, same soil, nutrition, weather.. Just weird.
I wish you a big success and fun with your new plants. Praise the sun!💪
my rqs gg auto, has also been a very slow starter, but I think it may be the genetics, as almost all the diaries tell the same sort of story - slow grow to start. Good luck with it.
@AirDus
Yes, maybe in optimal conditions this strain will have a good start. But since I'm fully relying on the sun and weather, conditions were just bad in first three weeks. I have 3 seeds left and I'm curious what will happen in much better weather circumstances.
Good luck to you too mate!
