This week I learned about training and because I'm using the aerogarden to learn how it grows, it has to be cleaned once per week. Because I couldn't tie the branches down to anything I got some hooks and weights.
The cutting has gotten bigger but no sign of roots.
Things are going well, the weights are working to hold down the branches and it's looking good and flat! The light on aero garden doesn't go higher so I've ordered extra LED light, 80w.
The clone has doubled in size and lots of new roots were appearing so I potted it in some seeding seeding soil at the end of the week.
I can smell it!
The branches are getting close to the lights more weight training for these branches! The fan leaves are almost all gone, the fresh leaves look much better.
I do see the white pistils clearly now.
This week's cleaning of the aerogarden showed my rotting roots, oh dear. I let them soak in clean water and now I won't add the aerogarden food and see how that works out. I believe that because the pump goes off after I turn the light off manually after 12 hrs. it's not getting the airflow it needs for the roots.
The cutting is getting so tall!
The aerogarden buds are tiny as predicted and the white hairs are turning a nice auburn red.
The cutting is coming along nicely, it was repotted into a bigger pot and buds are developing nicely! The leaves don't look that good so I added a bit of blooming nutrients to the soil.
Things are looking good, roots in aerogarden are really big and healthy. It was a good experiment to learn how to germinate, grow, top and train a plant.
The cutting has slowed growing in height buds are getting thicker. Very hairy pistils, it's a good sign.
It's Monday and the crystals have appeared clearly on the hairs and some leaves, maybe ready to remove from Aerogarden at the end of the week. The pics are from my cell phone.
It's Thursday and I just put up a pic of how well the clone is doing! The buds are getting bigger, they grow every night. I'm using a blackout material for a cover, and every morning the white pistils look a bit longer, the smell intensifies, and beautiful crystal trichomes becoming visible on the sugar leaves! Yes, I've been reading up on cannabis anatomy terms.
This was a good week. Harvested some baby buds from the aerogarden! They are drying now, note to self, very strong smell.
The clone is doing really well. The smell coming off is too much, so I've been putting her on the patio during the day when it's full sun, it's about 16c during afternoon.
I'm not sure what week we're on, but this clone has been on a 12/12 light schedule for 11 weeks, until yesterday.
The plant is far too
strong-smelling for my downtown condo. It's now outside on the patio all the time. I noticed that is was dawn before 6am and dusk around 8ish. Too much daylight I think but will keep a close eye to see if the trichomes turn milky white.
Any advice is welcome!
As my first full plant, it seems to keep growing. Very strong smelling so it's outside. Temps are chilly at night and these lots of light in May, too much for this stage. I want to harvest but should I wait until all the pistons are brown?
Mostly amber hairs if you want to go by looks. I would let it go a night and Check the crystals if it's good amount cloud at weeks your at ..you will have a good smoke. Especially since it's under the sun. If you could get a bin big enough to cover it. For 24 hours dark. Just to let the crystal recover from the sun before chop.
I chopped and trimmed tonight. Am happy for the first experiment to be getting close to a finish line! I have hung upside down and will dry, then cure in a Maison jar.
