The seeds germinated after about 48hrs, a handful still hadn’t cracked open. Then I planted them into 2” Grodan rockwool cubes in a rapid starter tray. I only had incandescent lights at this point so I chose not to use a lid since they create so much heat. Within 24hrs a good number of them had sprouted and started opening up. Slowly the rest of them sprouted aside from a few, and were stretching towards the light. I couldn’t move the lights closer and had to order CFL’s. The seedlings responded very well to the new lighting and stopped stretching. Rotating fan 24/7 now to help build stalk strength and prevent root rot. First feeding about 3 days after sprouting, water in the tray to help roots reach down. Plain water (pH 5.5/5.6)... After about a week the seedlings are starting to grow their 2nd set of true leaves with roots coming through the rockwool cubes, and are ready for transplant!

After ending week two we are now rolling into week 3 and the seedlings are doing great! They’ve adjusted well to the new pots and the new medium (Foxfarm Ocean Forest soil) and are growing faster every day! A majority of the seedlings are now starting their 3rd nodes with the 2nd layer coming in with 3 fingers which is a good sign. Watering schedule is still about a shot glass (1oz) of water every 2-3 days with plain water adjusted to pH 6.5

Just wrapped up week 2 and things are looking great. I ran into my fair share of issues but nothing detrimental to the plants. On the bright side most of the seedlings are starting to show their first 5 fingered leaves and about 3-4 nodes, some are starting their fifth nodes which I am very excited to see! This is my first (successful) start and the only strain I know is the one Aurora Indica out of the lot, which seems to be thriving in it’s environment, so I’m curious to see how each plant develops in it’s own unique way. Some seedlings have responded well to the FoxFarm Ocean Floor, where for others it was too “hot,” I would probably tone it down next time depending on the strains I’m growing. Another thing I would change is not putting water into the tray. In my attempts to increase humidity levels, although successful, I mainly just soaked the bottom of the peat pots and attracted pests. Every few days I would see one singular spider mite on different plants, I looked up home remedies and it said a dish soap/water mix works well so I’ve been spraying that directly on them and haven’t seen them in a couple of days. Lastly I added a c02 canister to the room and they seem to have responded really well to it! *side note* I also started some fruit & vegetable seeds which are doing great, and have been enjoying having other plants to tend to. I would even say it’s a great way to not over care for your baby plants!

This week was a bit slower moving than last, but I had to transplant them into bigger pots. During transplant I sprinkled some beneficial organisms to the roots and think that will really help ease the transition. I’m hoping the fresh medium and space will allow the girls to recover from the yellowing that’s spreading up the leaves. I’ll be starting them on Foxfarm Grow Big next week and if I still see deficiency I’m gonna give them some more epsom salts in their next feeding. Lastly I finally got some light fixture hangers and was able to fill up the tray with some even lighting which they responded great to! I moved the lights about a foot away after transplant but after 24 hours they seemed ready to go. The terp smell on the stems is delicious, and many of the plants are showing pistils and signs of being female!

A lot happened this week! Since I got this far I upgraded my lighting to a 600w MH bulb with a wing reflector and the plants are loving it. The medium is drying up at a good rate and I started feeding them 10ml/gal of some Foxfarm Grow big which they have also responded well to. After some minor LST of tying down and tucking leaves the growth on the lower nodes started taking off. Once they had about 5/6 nodes I decided to top them with a sterilized razor and undid the ties to relieve some stress on the plants. Hoping to see them bounce back fairly quickly since they’re looking and growing at a healthy rate! On a side note I didn’t top all of them, just half, and mostly the ones that had lower growth. These were all bag seeds from over the years so I’m surprised to see most of them thriving. I’ve been looking for good mother candidates to hopefully start keeping in a tent so I can really get the SoG technique done right.

Fastest week of growth so far! I’ve been giving the girls the grow big every other feeding and haven’t seen any nutrient problems 🤞🏻 Also I’m still hoping for lots of girls, I’ve only seen pre-flowers on 1 of the plants but over half of them have stipules that are crossing (17/32) I’m not sure I stress trained quite right but I did see good results from the ones that were trained, and the best results from topping. They’re starting to have a faint smell and I’m looking forward to the flowering stage!

I’ve got my plants in 2gal fabric pots and I’m not planning on transplanting up. The plants are averaging about 8/9” and I’m starting to see small roots out the bottom. Should I flip to flowering, or can I get away with another week of veg?

If you have no concerns for Space with these sure give them another Week that just gives you more in the end for the Patience. Dont worry about the roots they will find themself other rooms since the pot is textile. cheers😊

I’m seeing a weird folding in a few of the top fan leaves on some of the plants, including Aurora. Is this something I should be concerned about? If so, what is a good solution for this?

This week was a lot cooler than the last couple and the girls were thrilled about it. I saw some really fast growth all around! It was also time to transplant the plants I had in 1gal plastic pots into their final 3 & 5gal pots. This has all been experimental so I wanted to see how different pot sizes effect growth. I found going from starter cube - solo cup (peat pot) - 1gal - 3gal or 5gal to have the best results. I only chose mostly 2gal for the rest due to space and cost. I was able to fill the 2gal 3/4 of the way and haven’t seen much of a difference other than growth rate. It took 1 1/2 bags of FF to fill 30+ 2gal, and 1 bag to fill 3 3gal and 1 5gal. Anyways I would say I have at least 50% of the grow space filled and am going to be flipping the plants to flowering very soon! Call me impatient but I need to get this room cleared for personal reasons sooner than later.

This week was pretty much same as the last, the plants just started growing a bit quicker and are drinking faster. I’m watering about every 2 - 3 days and I gave them their last feeding of Grow Big at the end of last week. I’ve also continued giving them Big Bloom and they’re loving it! I decided to switch out my bulb to HPS a few days prior to flipping over to 12-12 to promote flowering and hopefully weed out some more of the males. I’m gonna start them all on Tiger Bloom on the next feed at half strength before flipping as well. On a side note one of the girls already has some pretty prominent flowering sites and I’m wondering if that’s a common thing? I know auto flowers will just flower when they want, so maybe that’s the case cause they were all just some bag seeds I had been saving.

Out of all my plants only the one of them has really shown this much progression with flowering sites. Is it flowering already before I switched the lights? If so does that make it an auto flower? Also will it hurt my plant to have not changed to 12-12 yet?

Yeah man, glancing at your diary - it appears that one is well into flowering compared to all the others. If it’s that tall one in the group shot, it’s obviously began to “stretch” while the others have not. Maybe they got an auto mixed up in the pack, who knows. But that one looks to be about 2ish weeks into flowering

Big update this week, I finally switched the lights over to 12-12 and the girls have started transitioning smoothly into flower! I was also able to fish out the rest of the males and cut them down before they could really mature. Out of the 50 seeds I germinated, 3 didn’t make it, 21 were females and 26 were males. Half way through the week I started them on Fox Farm Tiger Bloom at half strength and they responded really well, especially the Indicas. That Aurora is a heavy feeder! The soil had started running low so I top dressed them with some more OF at the end of the week and then a good watering of dechlorinated tap Ph 6.5 💦💦💦

The girls have basically exploded this week! They were drinking a ton and have responded really well to the steady increase in nutrients. With the room being basically self sustaining, it’s been a lot less work. Yesterday was the second round of defoliation and because this is my first time getting this far, I decided to be pretty moderate. There’s a few plants I took quite a bit off as an experiment and they seem to be doing great! The guy at my local hyrdo store recommended GH Floralicious Plus for flavor and smell, so I decided to try it out and this is some pretty potent stuff. After their first feeding of the Floralicious they are smelling delicious! The one plant furthest into flower is starting to show some fade in the lower leaves, she will certainly be done before the rest. She has a very sweet and sour aroma, especially if she gets rustled around a little bit. I’m stoked for the rest of flower and seeing their progress. Also I haven’t seen a fungus gnat in weeks so those yellow sticky traps are a must.

So things were chugging along until this week. I may have been a bit over ambitious trying to grow so many plants, but I think things are still all good! During my routine check I caught a couple hermies, and it looks like they have already done a little damage and pollinated some of the females. I’m hoping some of them are in the clear but the odds aren’t very good. Honestly I don’t mind some seeds but I’d still like to see at least some of the girls make it. There’s a good 10 or so of them that look pretty frosty and haven’t seemed to have slowed down at all, and aren’t showing any signs of pollination. I’m just going to have to wait and see!

Pretty much same as last week, I had another plant herm and kicked it out of the garden. I’m down to 16/50 seedlings that I had, but I was expecting that, which is why I did so many. Things are looking pretty good though! It does seem as if only some of the branches/colas on some of the plants were pollinated, which apparently is possible? I also started to flush the one girl that is furthest along, I’m thinking she will be ready for harvest within 1-2 weeks based on how fast she’s been progressing. Anyways looking forward to the coming weeks! Happy growing everyone 🌱

I’m just wondering how long this plant has? I was thinking 1-2 weeks but I could just be impatient since this is my first grow. Thanks in advance! Looks like 40-50% of the hairs are amber and the microscope is showing a lot of cloudy white trichomes.

Hi there, Normally flowering period takes at least 8weeks.You are only at the halfway through. And for harvest time, here’s my rule of thumb.During that time, the leaves will show deficiencies, discolouration ,yellowing and most of the white pistils become orange. The best method is using 60x microscope and check trichomes colour on buds.If trichomes are mostly milky/cloudy about 80/90 % and fill with some amber colour, it’s the time to harvest.Flushing or not flushing is your choice.Happy growing... ✌️

This week was a great one, lots of progress and fortunately I have been able to resolve almost all of my issues! The humidity was spiking between 60-80 so I got a dehumidifier and was able to control it somewhat. It raises the room temperature by 3-6(f) so I mostly just run it at night. The daytime rH is around 50 so I can live with that. The past couple days have been hot, but before then the weather was perfect! The one plant that flowered around May 23rd, before I flipped, is definitely ready for harvest. She’s got 60-70% orange hairs and some amber trichomes starting with mostly cloudy ones. I’m excited to share the harvest pictures but first giving her a 48hour dark cycle before I hang her up to dry! Lastly some of the plants are showing some N deficiency, but I’m not sure it’s the good kind? Two of them are showing Mg deficiency so I grabbed CaliMag from the local hydro shop and I’m hoping that fixes both issues. More updates next week, happy growing!

There was a lot of changes this week, some good changes and some concerning ones. Two of the plants are starting to show some really nice fade, but the one that looks ready for flush is also showing some deficiency. Pretty sure it’s Cal/Mag and I think I would definitely use that next time. I decided not to use it this late into flower so I returned it and tried some epsom salts instead, it seemed to do the trick. The rest of the girls are still fattening up so I got some bamboo rods to help support them. Other than that just gonna keep checking for herms, and checking trichomes to try and time harvest right!

Last leg of the race for some of these girls! Excited to harvest and trim and cure them. Everything went fairly smoothly this week, looks like some serious burn on the one, but she is towards the end anyways. I started flushing some of them a week ago, and the one furthest along about 2 weeks ago. I’m glad because I’ll save on nutrients as a bonus! I’m excited for my next run, I think things have gone really well with this first grow despite all of the complications. Anyways I should have some harvest pictures next week, thanks for following my grow!

We are certainly nearing the end here and it has been one hell of a ride! I’m down to my last 3 plants, I finally decided to harvest both of the purple ones this week. Temps have been way too hot and keeping the humidity down has also been a pain in the ass so probably going to wrap things up next week. I really wish I had used some sort of calmag early on but either way I am still yielding about an Oz per plant, so I should hit my goal of a lb 😁 Thanks for following my grow!
