Taking on a sativa, one from my home country, a land race strain from sunny South Africa.
Growing them indoors so I'll have to manage the height with SCROG, this would be a first for me so let's see how it goes
The ladies are growing nicely and I'm just letting them be. They seem to be more than happy to just bask in the light. They also seem much more tolerant than the Big Kush grow in the tent next to them, I think this is going to be a good grow 👊
I'm just letting this girls be, they are solid plants with strong growth. Had to give them a little more nutrients they were starting to go pale. They love to eat!
This week was topping time, looking back I should have done it waaaayy earlier because the girl on the right's stem was super thick already. The left plant had a little hiccup where the root got tangled around the air stone and when I lifted the lid I accidentally broke some roots off. I'm not sure if that is the reason but ever since then she's been a little slower than her sibling who is growing like a mad thing.
Decided to re-pot the struggling girl on the left into an organic soil mix, noticed the roots kept growing vertically and never any lateral growth. I think she'll thrive in a pot. The other lady I'm also going to re-pot the weekend, I'm going to take some cuttings and flower as I need the space for another project
Okay, so I've taken these ladies out of hydro to make space for another project and I taken 3 weeks to have them recover and transplanted into their final pots. They are going to use the last bit of available winter time to finish off outdoors. 👊
The flowers are starting to show, so of we go! Can't wait for this strain. Also can't wait to see what they look like finished outside. Weather is pretty cold (for South Africa) recently but it doesn't look like they mind, been taking them inside during the evenings
Looking good still, got some purple showing on the 1 plant and they're both looking pretty healthy. It has been cold here so I've taken them inside every night but otherwise all good
@donnob, I gotcha, I grow in living soil and never knew that hydros could be transplanted....Thanks for the info bro! Good luck with her I hope she grows strong for you🙏
@@Trumptight420, I guess there would be, they'll have to start navigating through the soil first. Also I think if the roots become too big through the net pot you're going to have a hard time getting them out without damaging the root system. For emergencies only 😆
