I used the glass of water technique, soaked it for 18 hours then transferred it to moist paper towel (paper towel method) put it on a plate and placed it on a dark and warm area and spray water once the paper towel goes dry. 2-3 days until the seed crack and reveals its tail then i planted it on my medium.
In this week, the only concern and things I monitor daily are the temperature and humidity. Temperature should always be around 20C-23C, while humidity should be around 60-70%. No nutrients is given to the plant just balance ph of water (6.5) if the top soil is dry.
In this week, same method as week 1 still no nutrients just balance ph water (6.2-6.8), temperature still 22-24C and humidity 50-70% but im having some issues with my humidifier it exceeds my desire humidity level that should be 60%, it goes up to 80-85% but nonetheless everything is doing fine.
In this week, i’ll start giving them nutrients and start Low Stress Training.
In the past few weeks i only water them once a week with 1.5L of ph balanced water, because i always wait until the top soil is dry until i water again.
Temperature and humidity is still the same with previous weeks. Temperature is no problem for me, I always hit the right temperature but humidity is giving me a hard time. What i did the last few days is i set the timer for my humidifier for 2 hours, low mist, then it will reach up until 80% then after 2 hours gradually it will reach my goal which is 50-60% then i’ll turn it on again for 2 hours if the humidity drops to 40%
I’ll begin tying them around middle of this week, im just waiting for one more inch growth before i start.
Last week (week 3) I did low stress training on all of my plants, first 3 days went well they re-adjust quickly then i decided to tighten the tie of one of them. Unfortunately this causes stunted growth but the others were doing good.
Moreover, I will fix the problem regarding stunted growth by loosing the tie and continue to monitor the plant if its recovering or not. Meanwhile, the two plants that did well, I will continue to do low stress training by tying another tie to expose more nodes.
In this week, same nutrients will be given same as last week. Water only when the top is dry.
The LST i did in the past few weeks is starting to pay off. The plants are spreading nice and even, not bad for a first timer but it can be better.
In this week, i’ll try to water more to boost their growth because in the past few weeks i only water them once a week for the reason that I always wait until the top soil goes dry and it took almost a week for that to happen. I read in an article that you should carry your pot after a day of watering the plants to able to know that is the weight of the pot when it has water, so you can determine if the pot is light that means you can water them even the top soil is still wet. I’ll try this method lets see if i’ll end up overfeeding my plants or not.
In this week will be doing same routine like last week, always monitor humidity and temperature. Spread the fan leaves so the leaves underneath can receive enough light.
Flowering begins (week 6), white pistils appeared in all three plants in the middle of week 5. In this week, I switched the lights from veg (blue) to bloom (red), nutrients given to them is still the same as last week. I gave two feedings last week with interval of 4 days, it turned out fine, no signs of any kind of deficiency however growth is still slow but i will continue to give 2 feedings in a week rather than waiting for the top soil to get dry because it would take at least a week to get dry meaning the plant will only get feed once a week.
Low stress training is still on effect, I tie down the main branch earlier exposing possible colas underneath and spread the leaves so it won’t block the light.
Daily monitor of temperature and humidity, temperature should be around 22-24C, and humidity should be in 40% but because im having issues with my humidifier, what i do is turn it on only for two hours because it reaches 70% in low mist setting, then after two hours it will dropped slowly around 40-50% and it would stay in that humidity within 6-8 hours after that it will drop below 40% then its time to turn the humidifier for 2 hours again.
I tried defoliating two days ago but just the leaves that are underneath and started to bend toward the soil, 1-2 leaves per plant not that serious defoliating because its an autoflower and I won’t stress it to much. I did another defoliating an hour ago, 1 leaf per plant again just those trap inside the bottom part. Low stress training still on going but no new tie, i’ll try to leave it like that until the end i’ll just tuck the leaves blocking the developing pistils.
I noticed that out of 3 plants, 1 is taller and bushier than the rest. Looks like the other two stunned their growth or just slow in growth. Seriously I don’t have an idea same nutrient and care are given to all plants.
I feed them twice a week every 3-4 days, no negative reactions or whatnot. Nutrients adjusted in this week. Same temperature and humidity level as last week, keeping an eye daily to adjust if its not in desire level.
Plants are now growing slowly and start focusing on flowering. Compare last week more pistils are visible and getting bigger and longer. In this week, LST is still on effect and no defoliating at the moment until I flush the plants around week 10.
Still same feeding schedule, twice a week with interval of 3-4 days. Temperature and humidity are monitored daily, as well as tucking leaves that are blocking the pistils underneath.
In this week, I started defoliating because the plant got bushier than last week and its blocking small colas underneath. I noticed that they are still potential colas blooming so i had to LST the plants by spreading it so the light would penetrate.
This will be the last week for nutrients starting next week (week 10) I will flush the plants, just ph balanced water for the remaining weeks.
It didn’t go as I expected, the plants are slow growing so i think they need more time maybe 2 more weeks (until week 12) for them to be ready for harvest. Due to change of timeline i did continue my feeding and increase a little in the nutes, maybe this week will be last feeding before flushing.
I defoliated all three of them, I cleared the bottom part and remove majority of big fan leaves. I remove LST on my two plants but one plant still continues.
Another false alarm, i will still continue to give nutrients. I did some research that i should start flushing when 40-50% of the trichomes are cloudy or the pistils are turning brown/red, then i did check my plants and its not there yet. So i’ll still give nutes this week.
The buds seems to develop slow and it looks like it will become an airy buds.
Finally! No more nutrients its time for flushing! Maybe 2-3 weeks of flushing before i harvest it. Depends on how the buds will develop.
Its pretty much waiting game at this point. So just daily monitoring of temp and humidity and water every 2 days.
1 week before harvest!!!
The buds are airy and small, i hope it improves over the week. In this week, flushing is still on effect and daily monitoring of trichomes so i would know if its ready to harvest.
I harvested one of the plants last week, and it finish drying today. The buds are small and airy well because the that plant is not in best condition but still pretty good for first grow.
I harvested another plant today, and still one remains maybe i’ll give it another week before harvest.
I will update this post for the taste and weight of the plants. (I don’t have a weighing scale)
UPDATE 1:
The buds of the first plant is ready to smoke. It smells citrus and fruity but when i smoke it its earthy and woody taste. Maybe its because of the early harvest or it didn’t developed right.
