Bag Seed First Grow

Started these off under a $30 LED burple and they are very stunted, I suspect this is due to night-time temps, My grow tent is in a garage and I haven't got the heating set up right yet. These were really used to test out a smaller closet grow but after deciding to go all-in I upgraded to this 5x5 and bought some decent seeds. I have a seperate diary for 2 Big Head Superfast Autos that will be growing alongside these hopefully. Or these may well get pulled out to become outdoor plants. Still a little undecided. The runt of the litter suffered from something which caused its first set of true leaves to curl up at the ends, the other two were unaffected though and it seems to be bouncing back.

After sorting out a new oil filled radiator in the tent the temps have been a little easier to control with the automation system. If it goes too high the extractor kicks in (same with humidity) and likewise both the heater and humidifier come on if either of those drop too low. It still needs a little fine tuning. Lowering the light seems to have helped too. They have grown more in the past 48 hours than in the past 2 weeks. Even the plant with the damaged first set of true leaves. They have some company now with 2 seeds just planted into the soil for my Big Heads Seeds Super Fast Auto grow. Midweek udpate: They're off! Starting to really take off now and you can probably see the huge difference just 3 days has made in the photos.

Some rapid growth kicking in now, and all three have been topped. I made the mistake of not fully filling the pots thinking i would use the space later for top dressing but the lower growth seems a bit close to the ground now, so selectively removed a couple of leaves. Tent starting to smell a bit but had a huge build up of moisture on the inside of the tent which had to be rectified. The temp difference between the inside of the tent and the "outdoors" is quite significant so condensation is proving to be an issue whilst maintaining humidity.

A little bit of low stress training this week. I have very little idea what im looking for here other than to expose bud sites to light that are otherwise covered with fan leaves and trying to get the plants to bush out a bit. At this stage I still dont know if they are going to be autoflowering or photos. Since I have two autos in the tent with them for at least another 40 days I will keep them vegging unless they go into flower on their own.

Technically these are now starting week 6, finishing week 5. (adjusted for a slow start due to temps) All three are bushing out nicely, and I have removed quite a lot of leaves to try and spread out the canopy a little better. I really need to spend some time training them a little better but still have no idea if these are autos / photos or what. Im either misreading them or they are all females, which means a tent full of ladies right now (hope I dont get that wrong!)

Following a recalculation of my calendar, and accounting for the fact these seedlings were very stunted due to temps I have decided they are now just finishing up Week 7 in the pics above. I have VLST some of the branches with twists and press downs, defoliated some lower and larger blocking leaves and watered each with 1L of water nutrients which should keep the coco soggy for a day or two. Still no idea if these are photoperiods or autos but since they are sharing the tent with the two superfast autos that supposedly have a fixed schedule I want to give those autos the most light possible. Ill manually "flip to flower" mid week 10 for these so they have plenty of time to veg and grow if they are photos. Of course if they are autos I would assume that they will start to flower soon and ill be good to keep the lights on 18/6 throughout. It's a bit of a pain but hopefully it will work out in the end. The superfast autos are due to be harvested in just 19 days which I can't see happening myself but if thats the case, thats when ill switch the others over.

The autoflowers are desperate to flower so it seemed like an apt time to switch the bag seed from Veg to flower which they have been on for about 3 days before these latest photos. These are running much slower than the two autos but will be interesting to see what happens at least. They have been monster bushes requiring pretty much constant defoliation. Im expecting this to slow down a little now though.

These are just starting to flower now, its taken a lot of time for them to switch but was a necessity due to the autoflowers. I could have vegged them a little longer and even tempted to modify the lights to 20/4 for the last few weeks of the autos before switching what are clearly photos back to 12/12. Hopefully this will keep them flowering whilst pushing the autos a little harder.

After being in flower lighting for a couple of weeks they have all finally started to flower. These have turned out to take a lot longer than I was expecting, but I really would like to replicate the effects I got from this specific random strain. If it does then it will be worth it.
