All 4 germinated well, I've been using the same method for awhile now.
Soak the seeds in a glass of water for about 12-24 hours, tap them down so they sink every couple hours (if they're floating)
Then remove the seeds and if any have already sprouted they can go directly into soil, in this case all 4 had cracked open but didn't have a taproot exposed so they went into a damp paper towel for another 24 hours, they all had decent tap roots when I checked on them the next day.
Darkness and temperate are key, no light and keeping around 25 degrees Celsius seems to work best for me.
Took awhile for all 4 to lose the seed casings they'd sprouted with but they did pretty well this first week.
Last grow I had some issues with foxfarms happy frog on my seedlings so I wanted to start them with a more neutral soil so I got a bag of pro mix to start them in for the 500ml pots.
Just water and watching them grow, the one plant had a weird development where is green to the side for a bit but its still looking quite healthy otherwise.
Moved them up to 1 litre pots which had the bottom half filled with foxfarms happy frog, I topped up the upper half with more pro-mix.
Also added dynomyco to the roots when I transplanted, i think it took a couple days for it to really kick in but I'm getting pretty good growth especially considering they're still under the blurple (another week or 2 before they go under the marshydro)
About a month into the growth of these triple scoop and they are off to a decent start.
I believe the roots are starting to hit the happy frog soil and the excess nitrogen is lightening their color in new growth, which is fine as long as they don't become stunted.
I feel happy with the cheap blurple l.e.d as a starter light, but I'll be moving them into the tent and under the marshydro this week. Just waiting for my previous crop to dry.
I didn't do an update last week as the plants were looking pretty rough and I was starting to wonder if they'd make it.
Due to a combination of the poor grow light (the blurple) and using a soil with less nutrients, these plants are stunted bad.
Looking at my last grow the pineapple express was over 2 feet tall by this point, these girls aren't even a foot tall.
While size isn't everything when it comes to growing cannabis, I definitely can't flip these to flower at this size, unless I want to grow 4 plants and get less than an Oz.
I'm going to give the girls at least another week before I top them, they'll need another 2 weeks to recover after that before I can switch to flowering. By that time they'll be in 5 gallon pots and hopefully they'll be closer to 1.5-2 feet in height. I won't be using any liquid nutes as the happy frog contains more then enough and when I transfer them to the 5gallons they'll get a fresh dose.
Also for anybody that's been following from my last grow, I've been curing the harvest and it smells fantastic (particularly the pineapple express) you can expect me to upload the harvest journal entry in a couple weeks.
