The Orinoco sprouted on April 27th. She was a smaller, underdeveloped, unstriped seed but I planted her directly into the pot without germinating. She sprouted 3 days later and I have no complaints. Before she was planted, the soil and cover crop received a compost tea. It consisted of Oregonismxl and fresh homemade worm castings. The soil is the best I could find locally. It's just ocean forest from fox farms, heavily inoculated with xtreme gardenings mykos and azos.
Yesterday I started another tea for the pot. This time with less strength as to not burn the seedling. The tea consisted of:
.5 gallons of water
15ml grokashi
15ml fresh worm castings
7ml Be-1 organic pellets
1ml Be-2 humic/kelp mix
All mixed and aerated with an air stone. I'll know later today or tomorrow on how good my tea was by how the girl reacts to it.
I will be cutting down on my bottle use. Going to let the mycelium and eventually have worms in the pot breaking stuff down building nutrients. I also plan to make Korean natural farming nutrients like fpj, ffj, lab and more.
Any suggestions from experienced no till/ knf farmers is welcome. My next purchase will be an automated watering system.
Havnt done much. Sprayed her with a Em1 and photosynthesis plus foliar/humus layer drench. There is a lot of microbial life and fungus in the pot. The mycelium allows the pot to stay wet constantly without drowning your plants. Allowing the roots to take in water only when your plants needs it. Also sprinkled a little more grokashi for the microbes 😎.
This Orinoco is starting to blow up. I really want to mainline her but my last experience with that didn't go so well. I just want her to yield as much as possible in this 5 gallon no till pot. I have been cutting the cover crop and using it as a top dress. The mycelium helps to break down the plant matter and the cannabis is loving life. This is the fastest veg growth with a photoperiod plant I've had. Just gave her a nice tea feeding (grokashi, be1 pellets, be2, Em1, molasses and fish sh!t). All is going great :). Comment or let me know what you would do to maximize yield. She will soon be the only plant in the garden so I'll have all the space to spread her out.
So I topped her. And she has bounced back with a vengence. A few days ago I made a fresh Aloe/slf100/Em1 foliar spray and root drench. She is loving life and shows no signs of anything negative. Great colors, awesome vigour, and the biology inside the pot is on point. I even have a nice colony of predatory fungivore mites adding to the food web. I love how care free and easy to manage this pot is. No till is the way to be. Make sure you check my Instagram too.
Just gave her a tea last night. The tea consisted of:
-1 gallon of water
-15ml Be-1 pellets
-15ml grokashi
-1.5ml Be-2
-5ml slf100
-3ml fish head farms "fish sh!t"
-3ml Nourish-L
-5ml homemade FPJ
-5ml Em1
Brewed for 26 hours
She is growing fast and takes well to training. So far I have topped her main stem, then topped again at each end. I removed 2 fan leaves so that the under growth could get more light. And I've tied down the 2 main lines. I don't plan on topping anymore, but i do plan to train and tie down areas to get the biggest and most even canopy for this girl when she's ready to flower. Which should only be a couple weeks from now. Stay tuned and make sure you follow me on Instagram as well.
Gave her an xtreme gardening tea with Be1 and Be2 added. Also threw in some seafuel from bloom yellow. The plant is looking amazing and is blowing up like crazy. Everyday I notice more growth. And I just got a new light that should be here today so I'm super stoked. The cover crop is a pain in the ass but growing this with fungus and microbes in the pot is amazing and the plant loves it. Next round I'll buy a bigger pot and amend the soil so I'll be more set flower without adding so much in teas and waterings. This is my learning run. And all is good ✌️.
A lot has happened in the last week. First thing is i harvested all the other plants in my garden. 2nd is i got a new light!!!! A green sunshine company electric sky 180. It is a 24.5 inch long led panel with 3 different sprectrum Samsung mid powered diodes (180 total pulling 1 watt each). Super clean light and it has linear lenses that house the leds so it focuses the light down rather than losing light to a wider spread. Since hanging it, this girl prays hard and the undergrowth is getting a lot more light now also. 3rd thing is i put 10 worms in the pot, hoping they will make castings and more available food as we transition this girl into flower. 4th thing is i am slowly transitioning the light schedule. Right now shes up to 9 hours of darkeness a night and soon she will get to her final 11on/13off light schedule. Last night I gave her a tea consisting of OregonismXL, grokashi and bloom yellow bottles "Seaweed." Looking amazing and still loving her no till pot.
All pics this week are of the plant one June 25th. day 59 of life and day 10 of flower. Pistils are showing everywhere and there is no signs of hermie traits. I lolipopped her last week and gave her a worm cast tea. The new light is killing it in the space. I'm looking forward to how this girl does in flower.

Edit: June 27th
Last night I noticed that the plant was still stretching quite a bit everyday. So to even the canopy and bring down the overall height of the plant I had to tie down the tops. Currently I do not have anywhere to mount a trellis net, so I had to try something else. I posted a couple pictures of what it looked like right after (not pretty). But in a day or 2 she will look happy again and start praying back up to the light
This girl is doing awesome. I tied her down last week and she turned back up to the light quick. So far she has been very easy to grow and has more tops than u really thought I would get out of her. I'm wishing I used a bigger pot, but I should be fine in the 5 gal. Next round I will have a lot more soil for the roots to travel. She's the biggest plant I've grown so far.
This baby is still going strong. Gave her some fpj, urb and herculean harvest a couple days ago. Shes starting to really show her frost and has stopped growing upwards. Not much to report this week aside from the smells and trichome production.
Sorry I havnt updated this diary in a couple weeks. I recently had a son and have been so busy. Anyways, this girl has really taken off. When I open my grow room it makes my whole house stink. Right now it's a very sweet skunky scent. She has filled out greatly and for a cbd strain I'm very excited about her resin production. Lately she has been getting a lot of water, slf100, em1, urb, fpj and a little bit of herculean harvest to supplement phosphorus. I havnt made any teas just in case, I didn't want to mess anything up late into flower. Make sure to follow me on Instagram to see more updates.
This week I've noticed the bud sites getting a lot denser. And the larger fan leaves are starting to fade out nicely. She is ripening nicely and probably has less than 2 weeks to go. Pulled the tie downs and now the bigger stalks are really falling over. Check me out instagram also. Divs_darkroom
I finally got a tent. So the orinoco and the electric sky went in and I even installed a trellis net, which isnt doing much atm. I've been feeding this girl em1 and slf100 for the last week trying to use up everything thats left in the soil. Looking very nice and still has a sweet lime skunk scent to it. Gonna take it to next Monday and see where we're at.
I like your natural environment approach. Even if they grow a bit slower than conventional methods, im sure they will be healthier plants. Gonna follow this grow
@beadyeyes, i dont think this way of growing will be slower. it just got a slow start because the seed wasnt fully developed and strong. she is on schedule though. and she will be a monster in a couple months
@fabhz, sorry I havnt tried it yet. I purchased it looking for a high flavored CBD strain that will still get me high. I'm hoping I chose the correct strain haha
Thats some great training you got here. About the worms you got a thread here http://boards.cannabis.com/threads/is-it-good-to-put-worms-in-your-soil.169080/
180watt led is more than enough for one plant. Shes all set
