“The guy” had some white gummy on the menu last week and lookie lookie we have a winner.... I hope. I dropped it in a glass of water on 5/2/21, tail started showing on 5/3 and about a half inch on 5/4. I was anxious to plant. I had 5 parts organic jiffy potting soil and I mixed it with 1 part auto flower concentrate that I had left over and 3 parts vigoro organic perlite. Wish me luck 🤞
Don’t tell the others but I think this one’s my favorite 🤫. Performing way better than I expected since it was a bag seed. It was looking kinda sad over the weekend. I think I fed it some Cal-mag and growers choice recharge when I watered Jackie (who isn’t doing well) last week. Looking great!
Everything was all good until…
Tell 👏 me 👏 why👏 A storm rolled in one early morning with high winds. A patio umbrella landed on white gummy. This is why you never have a favorite, nature has other plans. I mended her with masking tape, lost a few stems but she is recovering nicely. I treated her with some recharge with 2 gals of water. She’s been getting some rain too.
Growing like a weed. Did some LST, defoliated some yellowing leaves. Looks like nitrogen deficiency. Side dressed with Back to Earth 4-4-4, half the recommended amount and Superthrive. Hasn’t been give any nutrients since transplant. 4 days earlier treated with cal-mag and recharge. Sprayed with some organic neem oil mix a few days prior to that to keep pests away. I’m doing my best to keep everything au naturale.
Could be it wants a bit more nitrogen. Your balance is 4-4-4 so you could use a calmag nutrient with more nitrogen in, a lot of cal mag products have 2-0-0
Some kind of deficiency going on. Threw some organic nutes at it and good ol cal mag plus. Trimmed those nasty leaves. She looks better, time will tell.
Definitely looks like under watering to me.
Make sure to water wide and deep and to run off every few days and wait until the top inch or so is dry before watering again.
If the soil has become overly dry, you may need to repeated the watering 2 or 3 times initially, to fully moisten in the entire bucket, from top to bottom and from side to side. Wait half an hour between waterings if you do need to rehydrate your container, this allows the soil to swell a bit between applications and helps to prevent the water from flowing straight through without being effectively absorbed.
