Week 3 into Week 4 brought some sad developments. While applying LST to the banana I snapped off the main cola site with no way to tape or try to salvage it. I left her growing and hoping to get even a single gram in yield to be able to say i grew it.
The plants seem healthy but small, I’m expecting to see a big growth spurt in the next week or two as they approach flowering. Either that or I will realize they were stunted somehow during the process.
First grow ever so I’m not using nutes at this point, just an Autoflower amendment in the bottom 1/3 of the potting soil. I wonder if they’d be bigger by now if I had used nutes.
Been using a weird light cycle by mistake. I have a grow light with red/blue/burple settings that is a clamp with 4 flexible lights that have been set to blue for veg in addition to the SF-1000 light from spider farmer. I realized that while the big light has been set to 20/4 schedule the blue lights have been on 24 hours. The intensity goes down obviously but they don’t actually “sleep”. maybe this rest could make them bigger?? Or is the additional photosynthesis worth it?
