Grow medium Canna Coco professional plus.
Germination
Started with a jar of water each seed sank to the bottom of the jar within 24 hours. I placed the seeds in between 2 damp paper towels and left them in a dark space to continue to germinate until tap roots started to show.

Maintaining a higher humidity of around 65 rh while in seedling stage.

Week 1 of early Veg
I began the feeding schedule this week using the Canna range again for this grow as it worked well on my last run.
Trying to maintain 55-60 Rh this week
Growing an Auto strain for the first time under the new LED is throwing up some questions but I think all is going ok.
These 2 seemed to take quite a long time to settle but are picking up growth now and look to be healthy.
I plan to lower the light gradually over the next week to 24inch as they develop further.

Really happy with the amount of growth this week both girls seem happy with the setup so far.
I have had a few signs of nutrient burn on both plants but thankfully I don’t think it’s too bad. I am not sure if I have maybe feed them too quickly or too much this week.🤔 I tested the run off for the first time and got a reading of 400ppm so I need to figure that out for the next feed 😐

So... this week wasn’t the best 😢
I snagged myself on some lst wire on one of the pots which resulted in one of the Northern lights snapping down to its second last node. 🤡👏👏
I tried to rescue her but I couldn’t get the tape to hold up the damaged stem so I had to eventually give up which was pretty gutting. I decided to attempt mainlining/manifolding the damaged plant after giving it a day to recover and it does seem to be still growing.
Unfortunately I didn’t have the option of bringing her down to the 3rd node for mainlining due to the damage so I’ve absolutely no idea how this will turn out or what stage of its cycle it is currently in.
If anyone has had any experience or has any advice to offer it would be greatly appreciated.
The other girl is doing great and has showed another week of good growth.
Happy with everything this week no issues so far and both girls have started the stretching phase of flower.
Some defoliation over the week to help light penetration and airflow get to the lower parts of the plant.

Both plants showed a lot of growth this week the daily increase in size with this strain during the stretching phase is impressive to watch.
The smaller damaged plant has really recovered well and looks to be growing a couple of decent sized tops now.
Apart from that just some light defoliation and some lst with wire on a few branches to help open up the canopy a bit.

The girls look to be finishing the vegetative growth phase this week and are starting to switch full steam ahead into flower production ☺️☺️
Trichomes are also starting to form now and the smell is getting slightly stronger each day.
Not much to be done this week just some defoliation and training to help open up the canopy’s.

Week 4 flower 🌸
Both plants seem healthy and happy so far showing good bud development this week.
I have been giving both plants around 500ml of water each in between feeds as the pots are drying up every couple of days.
some light defoliation removing a few leafs that were blocking some of the larger bud sites.

Really happy with the overall development this week both plants seem to be healthy.
The smell is also increasing but still not too overpowering.
Full feed given along with 500ml watering per plant as the pots are drying up every other day now.

Getting close to the final harvest weeks now so time to start checking the trichome development.

I have no idea what kinda yield to expect but it looks like it might be ok going by the size of some of the top buds.

✅Final week before harvest.
Flushing with just ph’d water for the final week.
Everything looking good for harvest at the end of week 12.
Some amber trichomes starting to appear on almost all of the buds on both plants so lights out any day now.

Very happy with the overall yield.
This strain exploded into flower and produced really nice buds in the end. Northern lights has a distinctive smell and taste that I really like and the high is a nice mellow relaxed one.

Very happy with the results of this grow I got a much better yield than I thought I would and I learnt a lot along the way.
Looking forward to going again and maybe using bigger pots next time round.
