I haven't posted a grow diary for the longest time . However I wanted to show some LOVE for Victory Seeds and thier version of Auto Super Mazar . This was an interesting grow because I got so much more than I expected is more ways than one . So here is the diary in one post for what its worth.
Firstly, this was free seed so thanks Victory Seeds. Im now a fan and you are on my radar from now on .
The grow turned out to be super in every way for me so here is a heads up for other growers who may wish to notice .
The Grow:
I have a small and unremarkable grow setup . I generally put down two seeds in each cycle just in case of a failure and this seed popped a little lethargically beside its companion in the tent a GSC from Fastbuds.
The GSC raced away and left Mazar in it wake .So I wondered if this little girl would even survive at all ..let alone flourish.
Popped these seeds directly into 50/50 Coco Coir/Perlite with a little spagnum moss on top to retain moisture at the surface .
Also this was also a bit of a breakaway for me ...I was using Canna nutrients for the first time and also breaking in a new LED light that I bought on-line from China because it was too cheap to refuse and because I was pissed . A happy mistake me thinks .
So my Super Mazar is above ground ...but only just . Fingers crossed !
First week and I didnt think she was gonna make it .
Week one and put her outside in the warmth of the sun ...come on girl please live .
Water and sunshine only .....
not much to see yet ...sorry !
So its slow progress but she looks healthy and it lives ...ya !
Just a dribble of quarter strenghth nutes ....steady as she goes .
At this stage Im only interested in the GSC seedling to the left in the tent if im honest. Expectations are low .
Its slow going ...it usually always is at weeks 1, 2 and 3 ...plant is full-on putting down its roots . Im top watering and only feeding half strength nutrients .
I grow in Auto-Pots so hand watering is the order of the day untill those roots get well established .
So at week four im noticing some distinct differences from my previous grows under a high power burple LED.
For one thing , the internode space looks compressed . Im wondering at this stage if these cheap from China LED are worth the pocket change I parted with .
Plant has good tone and colour but its short ...and bushy...At this stage Im a wee bit confused I have to say.
So now Im encouraged ....we have slow but healthy growth and I can see flowers in the not far distant future . The other plant (also an Auto ) has switched to early flower . GSC is up and gone
but thats OK ...I have enough grows behind me not to be concened even though i now know that these plant will mature on different timelines ....Oh bugger !
She is starting to bush up so im doing the Low Stress Training with the branches now that i can see the form she will take .
I like what I'm seeing in the form or stature. But im wondering ...is it the plant or is it the new light /nutrient combination maing thid plant so robust ? ....she has the frame of a beast .
Well it was an explosive week . Stretch and flower is under way and I'm liking what i see . Wondering where the stretch will end . my tent is not that tall ..Uh - Oh ! My grow notes say 90-190 cm . Thats a huge variance .
After a slow start this plant has found its mojo . GSC looks tiny beside here . Both Autos . Chalk and cheese ! Nobody mention Super ! ....I want her to stop befor she starts growing through the roof out the door and down the road .
I could not complete a final harvest page for some reason (some error) . So for those who are interested . Yeild was 188 gms or about 6 ounces dry weight . I filled over 4 large and medium Mason Jars . The light was a new 240 watt QB288 Quantum Board V2 3500K diy kit from China of unknown brand . Im not dipleased with the light or the Canna Coco A/B nutrients. Both I would have to say are brilliant for my 4 x 3 growspace and Autopot set up . Happy days .
