I germinated a second Blue Dream seed. This one seemed much stronger than the first seed that was geminated. I purchased the seed from Pacific Seed and Im not sure of the breeder. The seed was a little larger than the first seed, but much smaller than the photo seeds that I have grown before. The seed germinated in about two days and I planted into a five gallon fabric pot.
The plant continues to grow. I purchased a humidifier to increase the humidity. My tent is running at constant 50%+ now. Im watering every couple days or so. I can detect smell now. The light is up to 100% I haven't use the fan much. I have the 2x2 tent in a bedroom that Im not using. The fan vent is not vented outside like it should, but I suspect that is ok. Eventually I will need to address the smell. Not sure If I will leave the grow tent in the bedroom or find another suitable location. I really dont want to drill a hole in the wall to export the air. But, I will figure that out soon enough.
Im really happy to find this site and share my grow. I found this site by accident and Im updating to where I am now. I have experience growing photos seeds many years ago. I had a stealth grow room under my porch at another house. But, its was difficult due to the temperature swings. Now that weed is legal, I thought I would try again with Autoflowers. I will probably go back to photo seeds. I did not realize how sensitive Autos are. 😀
The growth this week literally exploded. LST was six days ago. I cant believe how much the plants have grown in such a short period of time. Even the first seed that I germinated that I almost gave up on has show incredible improvement. Im watering every two to three days. I haven't used any other nutrients other than what's in the soil.
I think my days are off a little. I started this grow dairy a few weeks after germination. Im catching up. The Day 36 pics were taken today and uploaded. I lost internet connection last week. Both seeds are between 5.5 and 6 weeks as of today. I suspect that doesn't matter much. But, I am just amazed how much growth has happened over the last week. The plants are now 13" tall. The first seed that I didn't think would make it is doing well. It wont have as many bud sites, but the second plant is making up for that. This is my first grow in my 2x2 tent. Its my first grow with autoflowers. My soil mix is on target. I still have not needed to add any nutrients to date.
On day 36 I did more LST. Im sure it could have been done better. I will have a better idea of what to do next time. I did notice that after the watering today a couple leave started to turn yellow. Did I over water? I believe it is plant stress. I went ahead and clipped the two yellow leaves. It doesn't appear that I have over watered.
The second larger plant is on day 43 and the smaller plant is around day 47-48. Both plants are very healthy. They both bounced back from last week's LST. At least 16 buds sites. I was going to use three - five gallon pot in my 2x2 tent on the next grow, but I think I just need to stay with two. Im allowed to grow four plants. So I need to figure that out. Im thinking of getting a 3x3 tent with a Migro Array 3 LED light. Keep two plants in the 2x2 for vegetation and 2 in the 3x3 for flowering. That way Im harvesting every two months or so. Thoughts? Maybe I should get a 4x4 and just grow all four plants at once.
I received my first full months electric bill since I started this grow. I used next to no additional energy. I did raise my a/c temp to 72 degrees to keep the grow room around 78-82 degrees. So the offset yielded no real increase. Back 15 years ago I used HPS lighting. I had two 440 watt units. Big difference. My grow room then was around a 5x5 but it was in a concrete enclosure under my porch. I had a very hard time managing the temp swings. I never checked my PH or TDS either. I believe these two autoflowers will out produce anything I was doing then.
Very excited about the growth so far. The does not seem to have any stress at all. The PH from my tab is at 9.0, but only 160 TDS. I was literally shocked on how high it was.
Im bringing down the PH to 6.4 or so. Im sure I would have had issues if I didn't address the PH. Sorry for the on and on. I tend to make a lot of notes for the next grow.
This week had to raise my lights. I didn't LST correctly and the main stem is growing tall on both plants. Many buds sites. I counted around 16.
This week I tested the water runoff. TDS=1950 PH=6.2
The soil nutrients are still feeding the plant from what I gather. I have been adding Black Strap Molasses to the watering once a week. I have added any other nutrients.
Not sure how long I will be in flowering. I suspect through the first week in July. 👌
On day 56-57 Im starting to see yellowing of leaves. Im not sure what is happening here. Comments?
😫Boy, did I screw up. My PH at tap is not 9.0 its 7.5 I did not calibrate the new PH meter I bought at the start of my grow. I thought it was good to go. So realistically, for the last two months, I have been giving my plants 4.5 - 4.8 tap water after adjusting my PH. So will feeding plants acidic water stunt growth or cause nutrients lockout? I measured my TDS and PH soil runoff a week ago: 1900 @ 6.3PH. Its more likely around 4.8 PH. Thoughts? My plants look ok, but they do look like the are a couple weeks behind schedule.
My PH issue from last week has now been resolved. I recalibrated my PH meter. The PH from the runoff is 6.5 with 445 TDS. Its pretty clear Im getting closer to harvest. The trichomes are clear to milky. I will harvest when it turns about 20% amber or so. I have not amended the soil throughout the grow. I only added Black Strap Molasses once a week during flowering. Next week I will just water and keep an eye on the Trichomes.
The odd thing is that the plant that I almost gave up on during the start of the grow has loads of buds. It really came around. I learned a lot during this grow. I will run another with the 2x2 tent and SF1000 spider farmer. Then I will upgrade to a larger tent and light. Right now Im thinking about a 2x4 tent with a Mar SP3000. However, I really do like the Chilled lights as well. Thanks for reading. Any suggestions with my grow would be deeply appreciated.
I feed the plants for the first time this week. I used Dr. Earth Flower Girl Bud and Bloom Booster, along with CalMag and Blackstrap Molasses. I should have feed them a couple weeks earlier. The buds really gained weight almost immediately after the feeding. They must have been starving. The Trichomes as starting to turn. Im seeing a few amber the rest are either clear or milky. Im still working on developing my skills in taking Trichome pics. This time I took snapshots of the video. That was still frustrating. I wonder if they make an autofocus microscope.
From here on out, Im just going to water. I suspect it has about a week before harvest. 😀
According to the breeder info, Kush Seeds, Im about four days away from harvest. Im started to see some amber in the leaves. I would like to see a little more. Hopefully in the next week I will be ready for harvest. The plants have received Flawless Flush today. I will only water them from here on out. I will test the TDS next week.
Im in day 53 for flower. Kush Seeds state I should be ready for harvest between 50-60 days. So Im watching the Trichomes now. Im seeing amber on some buds, but most are still clear to milky. I will give it a few more days. I do not want to harvest too early. I don't want to harvest too late either. So, I know Im close. The plants are not needing much water now. I have notice the buds are putting on weight and the trichomes are getting easier to see. I am surprised of the number of buds for a 2x2 tent with a small LED light. Hopefully this will be the last full week! Peace!
Im in Day 59 of flower now. The Trichomes are still mostly clear on the calyx. I have noticed the density is increasing this week. The calyx is swelling more. I would have harvest early if I hadn't check the Trichomes. The hairs have mostly turned now. I suspect Im down to the final days. Peace everyone!
Im in day 67 of Flowering. Im about 7 days beyond the recommended harvest day stated by the breader.
I can see some of the Trichomes are turning but most are still clear and milky. I could really use some input on this. One thing I did learn is that I shouldn't have waited so long to feed. I should have amended the soil on day 30 (total days) and again on day 40 (total days). Waiting too late to feed with nitrogen will delay Trichome development from what Ive read. I suspect that is what is happening here. I would love to hear your comments. I did smoke a small piece that was pulled to insect for trichomes a couple days ago. I was surprised on how smooth the smoke was. The high was really strong with just one toke. It was a bit much for me. Im looking more for a body stone that will help relieve anxiety and pain. That is why Im watching trichome development every couple days. I may have the wrong strain for my expected results. Eventually I will figure it out.
I let the harvest dry too long. I went ten days at 50% RH, 78 degrees temp in my grow tent. Way too hot. The RH in my jars was 40%. I placed Boveda 62% and a hydro stone in the two jars in an attempt to raise the RH. I ended up placing the jars in the shower to bring up the RH. That worked. After two weeks in the Jar, I have an RH of 55%. However the taste and effects are mostly gone. The take away from this is that its ok to cure when still slightly moist, but once its dried the harvest is toast.
