Organic Outdoor 2021

Dagweed 1 week from seed...she's outside when it's warm and sunny but otherwise inside under a cheap "50w" Shengsite UFO on a 15/9 light schedule to match outdoors in a few weeks when she'll go into the ground.

Dagweed She's been inside under the light most of this past week and probably will be this coming week too, according to the weather forecast...then due for some warmth and sun again. First node is shooting branch tips...

Dagweed She was "praying" (leaves up) the other morning for more light so switched to a Growstar "300w" full-spectrum COB when indoors but she'll probably go outside for good soon to harden up for transplant. The leaf "fingers" progression per node has been 1-3-5-7-7...7 might be the max for this strain but i kinda doubt it...

Dagweed It's been an internode growth week <shrugs>. She was outside for four days and then transplanted two days ago. The soil is a combo of silt, loam and clay from the creek bed/bank here mixed with compost humus mostly from 'greens'(nitrogen), but should be plenty of 'browns'(carbon) from the decayed root mass of last years 9' plant. The soil pH at root level is about 6.7 and the well water is about 7. My goal is always for a "natural" grow (just good soil, water and sunshine) but don't always achieve it and will settle for cannabis approved pesticides. If i apply a nutrient/soil conditioner it'll be aerated compost tea with fish, guano or seaweed for N, P or K. There's a lot of insects here this year after a very mild winter and i'm thinking pre-emptive measures of some sort might be wise... I'll probably remove the weed barrier fabric when it gets hotter this summer because last years' wilt fungus disease has me gun-shy about roots being too warm and humid. For what it's worth, the 6th and 7th node leaves have 9 fingers.😎

Dagweed so i've been reading about how plant roots improve soil health...more microbes, better texture, terpenoid responses etc etc...and thinkin' the weed barrier used last year was just a dumb idea all around and a more natural environment is best. so gonna let stuff grow for the most part or they can be cut which is good for the soil too (dead roots=organic matter)
