Started this 4th outdoor run a couple of weeks ago, 2 blueberry , 2 mango skunk , 2 no light , 2 papaya all from herbies and 2 super skunk from ILGM. The papaya seeds from herbies were duds , several others were genetic weakling that I had to do intervention on or they would have died in less experienced hands. Not really impressed with herbies seeds thus far , I think their old. Anyway , I have 3 still in the nursery incubater that I will add when ready for outdoors.
The seedlings are actually the 4th run this spring. The larger plants are the 3rd set but didn't journal them , 2 mowie , a purple punch , a mystery guest from dispensery weed but I can't remember the strain ( tangie I think ) and a white widow.
Most are mainline and hogtied , a couple just fim'd and LST. Pretty yellow from the 14" rain in 10 days but bouncing back now. Hit em with some nitrogen since their still just in the coco-worm castings and haven't hit the super soil yet ,also some silicon and kelp and Micronzea. Thanks for checking in. They just got 1 1/4 " of rain a couple of hours before these photos so they are looking a little droopy. One thing about growing outdoors is that mother nature waters them when and how much she chooses and you just have to do your best to work around it.
Finally dried out a but and started growing this week , training going well. Got a surprise also , blueberry2 is a boy , just in time to make some nice seed crossed with my Maui mother and maybe a couple of others. He will have to give up his seat on this ride to alternate #1 , a papaya I have ready. Since a couple of the strains are not feminized seed , I was hoping for a blueberry boy for some breeding. Worked out nice
Just as the babies are finally drying out , greening up and growing again , we get another tropical dep and 10+" of rain. Guess we will see how hardy they really are.
Well , I gave them a bad case of note burn a few weeks ago trying to make up for hurricane rains that washed out a lot of the organic nutes they started out with. Lesson learned , the super soil is still pretty hot even after all of the rain. I couldn't bring myself to take a photo they looked so bad the past 2-3 weeks. This is my 1st crop that I mainline all the plants in. Withholding judgement for now but they sure are small to be their age they are.
@Mrgreengenes, NL is usually a strong tough strain and can take alot more than some...pest and mold resistant to some degree...hope it works out for you...
@spyder, Only if I could rig up a solar powered one , which I probably could do as its in my wheelhouse , ( electronic tech background ) but to be honest I just prefer to experiment with sativa dom strains and find the ones that can naturally fight it off. My dilemma is that the wife has insomnia problems and prefers the indica strains for bedtime meds so I grow the indica strains indoors during the short cool season we have here where I am. I have had much success with blueberry outdoors here in the past , so decided to try the NL on a whim. Thanks for your advice and thenks for stopping by.
@DoDrugs420, Thanks man , just getting into our real growing season here. I also love the lemon / citrusy sativa dom strains. Good luck with your next grow.
@SegaYGriega, Thanks and congrats on your last harvest , I want to run some of the Tangie and snow strains myself this winter. Tobacco compost ? That is a new one for me , have you had good success with it ? Lots of fresh tobacco available in my area this time of year.
Finally turned around and started growing well. My starter experiment is over , I will go back to planting in soil as I have had much better success that way and not nearly the work.
