Hi Growers! I received some seeds as a gift and will be testing them in my garden. Thank you Sweet Seeds seed bank! The first thing I did was put the Cream Mandarine #Fast sprouts in a jar of water. This strain is cross between: Cream Mandarine Auto( Cream Caramel Auto x Ice Cool(NYC Diesel line.) x with Diesel clone. I pre-grow it at home first under a 26W LED light for about 2-3 weeks and then transplant it outside into a 56 litres pot. The soil will be a mix of Canna Terra Professional Plus with Guanokalong Complete mix and I will add Plagron Supermix. I will be using fertilizers from Biocanna Vega and Flores. I may buy Bio Boost later. I'm hoping for a sunny summer with little rain, but so far it doesn't look like it. :D. Happy growing to all!
Update: Yes the seed germinated and at 14:10 on 23 May I put it in the substrate. The pot is 3-4 litres and I mixed the substrate with Canna Terra professional plus with Biobizz Light-mix and a little Canna Coco professional Plus. I hope it will do well.
🔬Breeder: Sweet Seeds
🌱Strain: Cream Mandarine #Fast Version

On May 26, the seed grew to its 1st day of life. I grow it in Canna Professional Plus substrate, which has large chunks of white peat, black peat, shredded coconut shells, tree bark and more. I also added 1/3 Biobizz Light-mix, which has perlite in it. I sprinkled the substrate with Rhizotonic water. She has strange long lateral leaves. Maybe she is too close to the light? I measured 43cm. (LED 26W). Hopefully she will grow well. Growing well to all!
DAY 25 19.6. I transplanted her into a larger 26 litres pot and she did fine. I've watered it with 4 litres of water and now we're having tropical days, so we'll see how she grows in this days. Is HOT as hell! And now the aphids are overgrown, so I'm manually removing them every day. Gardening is not easy hobby but it's still worth it.😋
Day 36. 30.6.2021 She grows slower and has a lighter green leaf color than the Bruce banner next to her. GHE Protect worked on the aphids and none appear anymore. I'm starting with a slower fertilization. Growing well to all!
Update photos from 1.st of July: Do you think the last zoomed in photo are female pre-flowers or male? I'll wait for the white pistils, but I don't really like these little balls.
Day 43. 6.7.2021 I think it's a female. She's doing well with a new bamboo support to keep the high winds from destroying it. The aphids are on it in small numbers. So may it grow well for you all!
Day 50 13.7. I like her broad light green leaves without the damage of pesky pests. If I hadn't removed them regularly, she would have been nibbled like my kales, where I wasn't so careful. I fertilize her every third day with Biocanna Vega and water her almost every day in the heat.
DAY 62 25.7.2021 I added on top of the substrate about 5 tablespoons of Plagron Bio Supermix, which contains some a little bit nitrogen and microorganisms, fungi. It seems to me that it is starting to lose its green color and the leaves are showing a little yellowing. Maybe it's overfertilized. I am fertilizing every 2-3 days with Biocanna Vega at the full rate of 20ml per 10l. I water it every time with 5 litres (10ml Vega) once the substrate dries out. Sometimes I really don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'll see how she does next.
DAY 71 3.8.2021 The plant still looks the same and I feel like it's still turning yellow. You can't see it in the photos because of the sun. I gave it a big flush with adjusted ph and no fertilizer. I will give her cal mag and nitrogen every day as advised by Mrs. Larimar. Hopefully it will do better in the future.
DAY 76 8.8.2021 The Cream Mandarine is still light green in colour and perhaps this is the kind of variety that is supposed to look like this. I don't know. After watering with clean water with adjusted ph, I add small doses of nitrogen and cal-mag every day. I have to be patient, but I want it to not lack nutrients and she will thrive. I may buy and use a soil ph tester. So may you have better luck growing it than I did.
Day 89 21.8.2021 She's still turning yellow. I did something wrong. I gave her a canna flush and it didn't help. So I'll just let she yellow, maybe she'll produce a small crop.
Day 125 26.9.2021 Cream Mandarine hasn't stopped yellowing, but the buds are forming a bit, so I gave it a chance to show some more. I started to like her yellowing. She's different, she's just her own thing.
You have a very pretty plant going there, some strains grow with lighter color green but low N will show with light green leaves. If you've started flower food they are normally lower in N a lite dose of veg food should increase the N.... unless like you are saying the ph is off... just sharing my thoughts to give you something to think about... good luck and again very nice grow 👍
