Germination
4y ago
Plant_Scientist My first grow, how exciting! Got an autoflower strain for simplicity and speed. Started the germination by putting the seed in a cup with water in the dark for half a day, then moved to a paper towel. After a day, the seed had germinated!

Plant_Scientist Week 2 of the veg stage and he is showing some nice sets of leaves already! The weather has been very cloudy last week, which might have limited its growth. I am still gonna wait until it's grown bigger before I move him outside.

Plant_Scientist My wedding cake has had a really good week! The weather has been really good the last couple of days, so I decided to move her outside. She has absolutely been soaking up the sunlight and I can see a difference every day! She doesn't feel so flimsy and stretched anymore and the leaves are looking really good. When I get really close, I can detect the slightest weed odor, which is exciting!

Plant_Scientist This week was very sunny and very warm. This was the first full week of outdoor sunlight and I think it was a bit too much at first. Her leaves were a little bleached in the beginning of the week, I think this was light stress. At the end of the week she has grown new sets of leaves, which look a healthy green! Tomorrow I will start LST.

Plant_Scientist This week I started LSTing my plant. I just want to bend her slightly towards the north, so she will catch more sunlight. It was cool to see how quickly plants can respond to such a change! She is now developing branches, which I will bend to the side next week.

Plant_Scientist Last week she responded nicely to the LST, so this week decided to do a bit more, pulling 2 side branches to the edges of the pot to create space in the middle. I think she is starting to flower, with pistils starting to form, so this is the last LST I will do. The smells are getting stronger and nicer every week!

Plant_Scientist She's a few weeks into flowering, and looking a little bleak. I know this happens with flowering, but I think this is too soon / too much. I think a lack of nitrogen. So I gave her some NPK fertilizer I had lying around. Hope this will help. It was an overcast week, so not a lot of growth, but the buds developing nicely.

Plant_Scientist Buds are fattening up nicely! The NPK fertilizer seems to have done the trick to solve nitrogen deficiency, as the leaves are looking much better this week! Getting close to harvest time and the smells are really good!

Plant_Scientist This week we had very heavy rain, which led to flooding in the country. For me, it led to botrytis.. The plant had some small pieces of bud rot. I picked everything out, hopefully, it will not grow further. She is very close to harvest, I hope she makes it...

Grow Questions

Plant_Scientiststarted grow question 4y ago
Had some issues with bud rot, but managed to stop it. But next week it will rain every day, which worries me. I have a small balcony I can place them under, but I don't know how much this helps as the RH will still be very high. About 25% of hairs are brown. What would you do?

If you cannot move it indoor and it already has bud rot, I'd harvest early to save what you can. That's just my opinion.

Plant_Scientist This was her last week! Because of continuous rainfall, I had to move her into my room, as I was afraid she would get bud rot again. Because me and my girlfriend couldn't stand the plants in my room, I decided to chop a bit sooner than optimal. I am very happy my first grow was successful and they all survived! We had pretty shitty weather, with high humidity and not a lot of sunlight, but they managed to pull through! The buds are currently drying and will go into jars soon. Stay tuned for the results and smoke review!

Really soft smoke, nice creamy and berry taste. Definately indica stoned. Very potent! Absolute beginner and still got a decent harvest.

Plant_Scientist Very happy to have finished my first grow succesfully! Had some rainy weeks and buds started to rot. They managed to pull through, but when the weather turned rainy again I did not want to risk bud rot again, so I harvested a bit earlier. The grow was very nice and I will definately be growing more!
