Feels good to be back, welcome to my 2021 Auto Garden!
Seeds were germinated via the paper towel method, first soaked for 24 hrs in water (just tap water) then in paper towel in unsealed ziplock bags for 2 days.
Back in the field we dug a shallow trench along the stone fence with the backhoe and from there I planted all my germed seeds.
I sprinkled 6 large handfuls of Gaia Green 4-4-4 and 2 of 2-8-4.
It’s been incredibly hot for this time of year so I’ve been back to water them most days, likely won’t be doing this after this first crucial week.
I’m going to call 2021-05-18 day 1 as that’s the day most of my Autos broke ground!
As for this strain in particular man oh man she appears to be showing colour already. I can’t wait to see how these do outside in Canada 🇨🇦
2021-05-27 Day 9
Just a heads up I found a small glitch on Growdiaries, not their fault though they never likely would have expected someone to try and put -1C on their nighttime temps 😂. That’s right we had a really cold night followed by a night of frost. I didn’t manage to get the girls covered the first night because I didn’t get a frost advisory, but I managed to scrap up a very piss poor cover, water bottles for the frost.
To note I know that growing in a pot on a brick or stone patio or some other thermal mass is a great way to save yourself from cold temps. The thermal mass absorbs the heat during the day and emits heat as it cools off during the night. But my in-laws vegetable garden in a raised bed got murdered by the cold night while my directly in the ground auto seedlings all made her. I’m wondering if the 2ft tall vegetation around them acts as a thermal mass, let me know what you think.
Anyway all but 1 of the girls made her this week. My gelato that had the rough start and pulled through got eaten by something, my fault should have had a cage over her and the rest but time has been short. Sorry @greenhouselab I really appreciated the bean man!
Believe it or not this CBD 20.1 is the best girl in the garden so far. Biggest and super healthy!
First few weeks are slow, it’ll get interesting trust me!
Ps this grow is dedicated to @budxs’s love of cbd and cbd accessories.

It’s been hot as hell. A real scorcher and frost is now out of the question. Upwards of 34 and windy the last couple days. I try to make it out every two-three days to water but being in the ground there’s not too much to worry about watering wise, they should be fairly self sufficient pending a no rain heat wave.
I did fuck up, the three newly germinated seedlings I planted to fill the garden got cooked. I’m going to have to wait for this heat to die down before starting the 3 new girls since I can’t water them twice a day like I like when they’re freshly planted in the ground.
CBD 20.1 was my biggest girl last update but things have changed. Something decided to take a big chomp out of her, whatever it was it must have the same affinity for CBD as @budxs. Despite losing 1/2 her leaves she’s bounced back amazingly and continues to thrive!
Stay tuned, flower is right around the corner!
