On Saturday, 6/5, I made an organic pest control spray to apply preventatively. I saw a few small green aphids so I whipped together: 1tbs neem oil, emulsified with 1 tbs powdered silica/water blend, and a little more than half a gallon in my sprayer. I doused the plants at around 9:30-10pm.
This morning, 6/7, I noticed the hole in BD #1. I checked all the leaves for pests but didn’t see anything, so I’m going to keep my eye on it. When watering I gave her a good blast with the water so hopefully anything invisible to my eye was washed away!
6/8: Fed everyone 1tbs of COM Stonington plant food and also did some very light defoliating at the bottom nodes. The leaves down here were yellowing a little, figured it was time to shift some of the attention to the tops of these babies. BD #1 is looking fantastic, BD #2 is still much smaller.
