After chilling in water (same source for watering) for a good 24 hours the seed was put into the soil in its final pot (clay) where it germinated and saw first daylight after 4 days. Before putting in the soil the pot's bottom was covered with gravel to facilitate air circulation and the pot itself was put on two bricks to avoid contact with the ground.
D01, Sun: She's looking a bit timid, with hear seed leaves not yet fully open and not even pointing in the right direction. I was a bit afraid the sun might burn the underside of her seed leaves so I created some shade for her.
D03, Tue: Now we're talking! She already got up yesterday (so no more shade) but this morning she's looking very fine
D05, Thu: Nothing would led to think that Aurelia was a bit late to the party, now that she's caught up like a champ.
D07, Sat: First week concludes with a bit of shitty weather but Aurelia is looking fine with the second set of leaves already showing.
D09, Mon: She was not the only one that seemed a bit annoyed this morning, after nightly rainfall. But she used that water in the best way she could 📈
D11, Wed: Two days later and she unfolded her newest solar panels, which translates directly to growth. Lovin' it! This morning I switched the drip watering from 2 times daily for two minutes to once a day, in the morning, for 5 minutes.
D13, Fri: Aurelia establishes dominance with the most fan leaves and being the tallest. A real joy to look at!
D15, Sun: It's a wrap on week two and boy, does she impress me. I don't know what the guys at Zamnesia did, but apparently everything right. She's off the charts and already giving off a lovely scent 😍
D16, Mon: Lovely sight this morning with morning dew on her leaves.
D17, Tue: What a beast! A different sight for sore eyes every single day!
D18, Wed: A tall, strong lady that's going strong 😍 Today I had to say goodbye for a couple of days, trusting she will keep on pushing like a champ 💪
D31, Tue: I'm back, baby! I was expecting a tall lady, couple of branches and nodes and possibly already some colas. I got to say I was not disappointed! She grew tall (almost 60cm), started flowering and looks great! What a sight! 😍
D32, Wed: Alright, now that I had some time with her after being separated for what feels an eternity I gotta say she is simply awesome. She reminds me of last year's Marisol (Dutch Passion's Think Big) - that tall, slender appearance with those delicate flowers and that lovely scent of anticipation 😊
D35, Sat: Uhhh.. it's getting serious with this tall lady over here! Her lovable scents are overwhelming and I catch myself (probably too) often smelling her flowers. Must be the anticipation and I'm sure she appreciates my attention. The flowers are fattening up by the day, even the little ones on the lower branches, close to the nodes 😎
D38, Tue: She's continuing doing what's she's been doing last week. Fattening up the buds on her colas and what already last week was an enchanting scent has become more intense and much more sweeter. There was an uninvited guest that took a bite out of a couple of leaves but nothing serious. Let's just say I taught that little grasshopper how to fly for real 😂 Hopefully it learnt the lesson. Other than that nothing out of the ordinary, she's got a shovel of fresh soil, and is not drinking tap-water anymore. For the last couple of days she's been getting her drinks from a well and she seems to like it 🥂
D51, Mon: After being gone for a week I returned to this marvelous plant and I am happy to see that she's been putting a lot of effort into her buds. Like her neighbors I took her out of the blistering sun and put a fan next to her to help with ventilation, especially at night. The scent she's giving off is already mind-blowing, as she makes herself present in my nostrils. Lots of pistils are already turning amber, but new ones seem to still grow out of the top of her colas. Plus, almost all of her trichomes are milky so I guess it's a matter of days before she's ready 😍 I took care of some of her leaves, namely the ones that got half-eaten by a grasshopper that got his ass handed to him and the ones already drying out. Plus, I opted to remove a couple of smaller leaves that were interfering with buds on other colas.
D64, Sun: Here we are, end of week nine. Aurelia, that amazing lady, is almost ready. Pistil production has almost come to a halt and trichomes are everywhere! While the buds do not fatten up at the same rate as in the last few weeks she's growing trichomes like crazy. They're not milky through and through though, so I have to remain patient just a little longer. Which is getting harder by the day as she's giving off that sweet, citrus-like scent that reminds me about Marisol - no wonder, she was a Think Big after all.
I had to defoliate her, quite heavily, since her fan leaves started to fade and it became evident that spider mites had set up camp. But I wasn't having any of that so those suckers had to walk the plank. With the nice side effect being of Aurelia's buds getting more sunlight and airflow.
During the day she's under a tree, next to her neighbors, that will provide shade around noon. During the night she's under a roof, where she's out of reach of morning dew. Still, the air is very humid at night, but the fan seems to do good work as so far I haven't seen any signs of budrot.
Depending on the weather, that is said to be deteriorating over the next days, I have to decide when to bring her in, but it wont be too long from now. I keep on comparing her to last year's Marisol (Think Big), to have a clue of her ripeness. Still I'd like to let her keep on going a little longer. Although I keep thinking that in terms of smell, taste and effects Aurelia might be similar to Marisol I am eager to have the pleasure of finding out whether or not that is the case 😊
Growing was straight forward and unproblematic. No special care was needed and what became of her was nothing shy of amazing. The reason why she couldn't live up to her full potential was mismanagement by myself, by not providing a large enough container. Nonetheless she grew into a beautiful, tall plant.
Harvest was easy peasy, as her flowers weren't too dense and did not contain too many sugar leaves. This made trimming easy and I was able to avoid messing with her trichomes during the process. As a matter of fact I didn't have many trimmings from this beauty which is why I did not make any canna butter.
She dried for about 5 weeks in an actively ventilated cardboard box, right next to her usual neighbours, before she was ready to translocate into a glass jar. As there was not much leave material in and around the buds, curing did not take that long, so she was ready to be tasted in a matter of weeks.
That fruity, citrus smell translated into her taste as well, especially when vaping her. She tasted really good, could've been a bit sweeter in my opinion. No matter whether I smoked or vaped her, the effects that kicked in were very much the same: a euphoric mind high with occasional munchies, but not too much effect on the body. I felt energized and creative while I was able to "cut off" the rest of the world.
I was a bit upset with myself for not having her put into a larger pot. However, I still have seeds of this strain and next time I won't commit this error.
Things I'd like to change:
• bigger pot
• not losing the photos while switching to a new phone
Things I'd like to keep:
• pretty much everything
@@TenderBuds, she's going through the roof 😂 She's got two side colas in the size of Marisol's main cola.. So I'm very enthusiastic, as one can imagine 🤤
