After chilling in water (same source for watering) for a good 24 hours the seed was put into the soil in its final pot (clay) where it germinated and saw first daylight after 4 days. Before putting in the soil the pot's bottom was covered with gravel to facilitate air circulation and the pot itself was put on two bricks to avoid contact with the ground.
D01, Sun: I had some concerns due to the failed first attempt of growing this strain but Cecilia doesn't care. First day and she's already establishing dominance amongst her neighbors.
D03, Tue: She's going strong, making it painfully clear that it was my fault that the first attempt failed.
D05, Thu: Unimpressed by the catching up of her neighbors she's chugging along, the next set of leaves is already visible 😍
D07, Sat: Shitty weather doesn't matter, Cecilia is looking very good and going strong 💪
D09, Mon: Like her neighbors she wasn't to pleased this morning after nightly rainfall. However, Cecilia seems to have made the best out of it over the course of the sunny day ☀️
D11, Wed: Somebody unfolded a new array of solar panels and puts everything she gets into growth. Putting a smile on my face every single day. This morning I switched the drip watering from 2 times daily for two minutes to once a day, in the morning, for 5 minutes.
D13, Fri: Ohhh Cecilia! What a beauty she's becoming! I'm just having doubts that the pot might be a bit too tight 🤔 perhaps I move her to a bigger one but I'm not sure whether or not this will mess too much with her
D15, Sun: After another lovely day of sunshine Cecilia finishes week 2 as a beautiful adolescent plant 😍
D17, Tue: She's looking fine as ever, but a bit handicapped due to the small pot 😟 Other than that she's just wonderful!
D18, Wed: Today I had to say goodbye for a couple of days, trusting she will keep on pushing like a champ 💪
D31, Tue: Okay, I'm torn. On one hand she is a beautiful little lady, well proportionated, looking strong and healthy ❤️ On the other hand she's flowering and not even 20cm tall 🤔 Now, I'm glad I didn't relocate her into a bigger pot, can't imagine what that stress would have done, but I regret not having her put in a bigger pot from the start.
D32, Wed: While she's definitely not the tallest or the chunkiest, for me she is by far the prettiest. Catching sunlight with her small yet strong leaves, standing her ground in heavy gusts of wind, decorated with trichomes and harboring some of the fluffiest pistils 😊
D35, Sat: She's getting more beautiful each day, fattening up as much as she can 😊 what a lovely little lady!
D38, Tue: A green little bastard took a liking of her leaves, and I guess it's the same culprit that molested her next door neighbor too. Needless to say, that bug got a serious talk. Other than that Cecilia does, what she does best: looking lovely, being cute and all but most of all fattening up her buds and putting trichomes onto her bud leaves 😍 my little cannabonsai! She too got a handful of fresh soil and is now drinking locally sourced water from a well. Apparently she likes it 😊
D51, Mon: After a week of absence I returned to this beauty. Apart from looking lovely she's smelling oh so nice, I don't know how many times I had to stop by her today just so I could get a whiff 🤤 In terms of size she did not change from two weeks ago, other than getting denser buds. From a ripeness point of view I'd say she's quite close, like next week or so. There are still white pistils coming out of her flowers, and the trichomes are almost all milky. I removed a couple of her lower leaves that were munched away by some uninvited guest and/or were already starting to dry out. Like her neighbors I took her out of the blistering sun and put a fan next to her to help with ventilation, especially at night. She's got tight buds so I'm a bit concerned about bud-rot, with high levels of humidity at night.
D64, Sun: Cecilia isn't breaking my heart, but she's shaking my confidence daily. Not because she's not smelling like heaven. Not because she's not beautiful. Because I wish I had a bigger pot for her. But no time to cry, it is what it is, and if she delivers what she advertises, this lovely lady is going to impress me even more once she's dried and cured. Her scent is very intense, with a candylike sweetness to it and a hint of coffee (ymmv). No wonder I'm eager to heat her up in my vaporizer.
The pistil production has almost stopped, there's only a few that haven't turned amber. The trichomes on the other hand have become more erect, bigger and milkier, almost sparkling in the sunlight. During the day she's under a tree that will provide some shade around noon. During the night she's under a roof, where she's out of reach of morning dew. Still, the air is very humid at night, but the fan seems to do good work as so far I haven't seen any signs of budrot - an she's got tight buds!
I "defoliated" her, which in her case means I removed four leaves. Primarily to get rid of the leaves that started dying. Additionally, I removed a couple of fan leaves that blocked sunlight from getting to the flowers.
Much like with her neighbors it depends on the weather, that's supposed to deteriorate over the next days, when I'm going to bring her in. I'm keeping an eye on the color of the trichomes, so to not miss the window. I'm very curious about her, she's constantly puzzling me with her out-of-the-ordinary being, but I have the feeling she's just messing with me. After all what she brings to the table is a presence that almost solely consists of fat buds. Needless to say that I'm on pins and needles to finally find out who she really is 😊
