Accidentally broke the main stem this week on plant A. Only lost the very top so wasn't too bad. The plant has recovered pretty quickly and the two stems just below it have taken over. Decided to remove some fan leaves to try and get more light to the lower possible bud sites. Think its just coming into pre flower noticed a few pistles on some of the more established bud sites hopefully will show better in a few days.

What are people's rules regarding watering and fertilizers? Not sure if i'm underwatering/overwatering. What would you normally expect a plant to drink each week durings the different stages of its life?

Watering- Enough to saturate the medium but only when dry (To test if dry poke your finger into the soil about an 1"-2", if dry you can water. Second way of telling if dry is by lifting your pot as if its full it will be heavier than when dry.. test both so you know when its dry. In terms of nutrients, use 1/2 the recommended dose of the nutrient line you use, and in some cases 1/4 strength then work your way up little by little. The first 4 weeks you shouldn't need to use any nutrients as your growing in soil which already has enough nutrients in to last you the first 4-5 weeks, some cases, 6. You'll know as your plant will show signs of deficiencies if it neeeds nutrients, then would be the best time to act upon using them as you don't want to over feed with nutrients and get nutrient burn which will slow down your growing process. Thats just a short answer, any help required.. drop me a message. Hope this helps.

As this is my first grow I'm unsure about when is best to harvest. Is the best way to go by the colour of the pistles? Also if anyone has any idea how long they reckon until its done? Need to move out next weekend 😩

When roughly 2/3 of the pistils have turned red and retract is an ok indication. It is best to go off of the trichome colors however. You can look at the trichomes a few different ways. You can take a photo and then zoom in on the photo, for some people the camera is good enough that they can see the trichomes up close. Another way is to buy a jewelers loupe that has 60x magnification. Or a digital jewelers loupe. You want most of the trichomes to be cloudy white in color just turning to an amber color. I find that this gives me an optimum desired effect. Good luck!

Hi @Jallow! Pistils can be a clue, if you noticed that new pistils have stopped appearing and old pistils have almost all turned red and curly, but the best way to ensure it's the right time is to look at the trichomes with a magnifier/microscope. Clear/Transparent/Skinny trichomes mean it's too soon, Milky/Cloudy/Fat trichomes mean the harvest window is open, Amber trichomes mean the harvest window is ending, and THC is degrading. Looking at your last pictures, I think you're 3 to 4 weeks from harvest. I'd recommend to keep on feeding for at least 2 weeks, then give it a good 10-15 days flush depending on the trichome's evolution. Hope this helps, I'll be around, keep us up-to-date and happy growing!

It looks to me like they need 2 more weeks at least; the calyxes still have to swell and the pistils have to retract and turn red. The calyxes are the seed pods, in this case empty, when swollen they give the buds their fat look.
