Feb 5-12. Started Durban Poison seeds directly in soil. Did not soak in water prior to planting in soil. Kept under light for warmth. Lights on 24 hours until seed sprouted. No plastic cover while germinating. 2 seeds are from IGLM, 2 are from Amsterdam Seeds. All are regular seeds, not feminized or auto-flower. So, we'll see how many girls we end up with. Light - 250 MH, approx. 18 inches above tops of plants. Daily watering, 2 feedings.
Feb 12-18. Started germination of Indica on day 12 of Durban Poison. Germed directly in soil again, this time I covered seeds until they sprouted with baggies. Seeds sprouted in 3 days compared to the 4 days for DP left uncovered. Indica seeds are from IGLM and are feminized. Light - 250 MH, approx. 18 inches from tops. Daily watering, 2 feedings.
Feb 19-25. Interesting observation - the first fan leaves on the 2 DP from IGLM (back in photos) had 3 blades. The first set of fan leaves on the 2 DP from Amsterdam seeds (front in photos) had 5 blades. All 4 plants have 7 blades on their 3rd and 4th sets. Light - 250 MH, approx. 18 inches above tops. Daily watering with 2 feedings.
Feb 26-Mar 4. So Monday I came home from work to sad looking leaves. The outside temp had reached the 80's and we didn't have the a/c set because it was in the 40's that morning. When I opened the door to the Grow room, my glasses immediately fogged up from the heat and humidity that had built up. I put a small fan in the room and opened the door all night. Plants bounced back by Tuesday morning. Lesson learned. Thursday Day 26 of the DP I did the first step of mainlining into 8 colas. All 4 plants had 5 full sets of leaves and were halfway to opening their 6th sets. I cut down to just above the 3rd set, and then removed all the growth below the 3rd set. I fed with Fox Farm Boomerang immediately after cutting, so we'll see how quickly these bounce back from the stress.
