06/14 - seeds were dropped in separate glass cups filled with filtered water that had sat out for 24+ hours to let the chlorine and other additives evaporate
06/15 - 24 hours later: one seed showed signs of cracking open. Water was swirled in other cup to get the seed to sink.
06/16 - both seeds showed signs of very small tap roots
06/17 - both seeds had visible tap roots. Thought about planting into soil today but the weather tonight will be unseasonably low and I do not want them to be shocked.
Removed both seeds from their water cups and placed them in a Tupperware with damp paper towels. I plan to leave them in their overnight. The plan is to plant them and get outside tomorrow.
6/18 - paper towel method overnight made a huge difference and both seeds were ready to be planted.
Both seeds went into 5 gallon fabric pots with Fox Farms soil. I layered Happy Frog on top of Ocean Forrest. I did about half of the pot full of Ocean Forrest mixed with a half gallon of Perlite and then layered Happy Frog with another half gallon of Perlite on top of that.
Soil was misted with water until moist and the placed in direct sun for about an hour and then moved into indirect sunlight.
6/19 - pots were misted in the morning and left in direct sun from 9am to noon. They were misted again and moved into indirect sun from noon to 2pm. Misted once again and moved into shade from 2pm-5pm. A bit more water and moved into indirect sun from 5pm-sunset.
6/20 - first signs of life today! Small bit of stem started poking above soil for both Cheese and Gorilla. Unsure if my plant is in seedling or vegetative stage at this point. I’ve seen a lot of conflicting info on when one stage ends and one begins (noob) so we are going to say veg day 1
Pots were misted in the AM and left in the sun from 9am-1pm. Misted again and moved to indirect sun from 1-2pm and then moved into shade from 2pm-5pm. Lightly watered and moved into sun from 5pm-sunset.
6/21 - Stems got a bit taller overnight and the cotyledons completely opened revealing a small set of what I believe are the first set of true leaves. Pots were in direct sun from 9am-2pm. Pots were watered and moved into shade from 2pm-5pm. Finally moved into sun from 5pm-sunset.
6/22 - It was overcast and a light rain for most of the day today with some sun from around 5pm-sunset. Plants held up well in the wind and rain which was great. Temps dropped into the low 50°s F (10° C) overnight so plants were moved inside.
6/23 - moved the plants back outside around 8:30am when temps got around 60° F (15° C). First day plants will be in full sun all day.
Came home and one of the plants was missing 1/2 of one of the cotyledon leaves…odd. May spay with need oil tonight to be safe.
Temps will be low again tonight so moving plants inside again to be safe and hope to avoid stunting.
6/24 - moved plants back outside around 9am when temps got around 60° F (15° C). Full sun all day from here on out. Evening temps were low ~52°F (~11° C) so plants were moved inside again for the evening.
6/25 - moved plants back outside around 8:30am when temps got around 60° F (15° C). Plants were watered until runoff. Evening temps were finally warm enough to leave outdoor overnight.
6/27 (one week post sprout!) - First rain storm that the plants had. Rained off and on for about 3 hours and they held up nicely.
6/30 - both plants got AM water, temps have been high here (in the upper to mid 80s F) so making sure they don’t dry out.
It’s crazy to me that you can already see the difference between the two plant structures. One being a 50/50 hybrid and the other being an 90/10 indica.
7/1 - Storms all afternoon and evening here. It dumped over 2” of rain, and still counting. Both plants held up really well to the heavy rains and wind, better than expected if I am being honest!
7/2 - cloudy morning have way to afternoon sun. Temps dipped down in the evening so plants were brought it.
7/3 - mild day temperature wise, low 70’s, but sun all day, plants were happy after the rain and clouds we had for the past two days. Temps dipped down again in the evening so plants were brought it.
7/6 - both plants got some much needed water this morning. Temps around 88° F (~30° C) yesterday, today and tomorrow so plants were moved into indirect sun for the day to try to keep them cool.
7/8 - nothing much to report. Plants look like they’re progressing nicely. Got about 0.5 inches of rain today. Fingers crossed for some sunshine in the upcoming days.
7/10 - got around 1” (2.5cm) of rain yesterday. Plants look like they loved it.
7/13 (Day 24) - first sign of white pistils (stigmas) starting to appear!
7/14 - plants were both watered until runoff. Still no nutes and plants look to be doing well without them.
7/16 - appears of plants have transitioned to pre-flower. Still no signs of nute deficiencies. Keeping a close eye as mine have been give to this point.
I believe we have entered pre-flower!
7/21 - Gorilla Glue looks like it is starting to hVe some issues. Most of it looks like insect damage but I cannot find the culprits.
7/22 - Both plants were watered
7/26 - got about an inch of rain. Plants really needed it
7/28 - broke a branch on the Gorilla Glue plant while tryin to tuck some of the larger fan leaves. Luckily the branch did not completely break off and it was a lower branch with only minor bud sites. Was able to tape the branch back to the main stem and secured it with a twist toe for more support. Hopefully it heals!
7/30 - both plants started showing signs of deficiency today. First signs of any issues other than pests Could not figure out if it was a nute or pH issue. Plants had not had any nutes up to this point and I had been watering with tap water. Plan to give small amounts of nutes in pH’d water moving forward.
