[Intro/Summary]
This week is the beginning of my first cannabis grow. Honestly, it's my first time growing anything other than a brief obsession with growing psilocybe cubensis many years ago.
Seeds: Purchased through North Atlantic Seed Company, I've received three feminized Dos Si Dos 33 seeds (as well as a gift of feminized Diesel, which may be listed separately in its own diary).
The seeds are being germinated inside of a Rapid-Rooter style substrate. I've separated them from the larger germination pan in order to fit inside of a Space Bucket style design. I had originally planned to have the entire grow take place inside of a Space Bucket due to a lack of room, but a space has opened up that I can convert into a grow room so for now the bucket is being used to raise my seedlings until they are ready to be transplanted. I will be growing the aforementioned Diesel plant in coco coir inside of this bucket, to be separated once it enters the vegetation phase.
My immediate plan is to finish building out my grow room this weekend. Time hasn't permitted me to set everything up yet, but the supplies are all on hand. A good afternoon of setup should give me a decent-sized space for 2-4 plants. This is going to be a DWC hydroponic grow, which seems daunting for a my first time growing plants of any kind, but my research shows that after setup the maintenance can actually be easier than other methods.

[Goals]
Yield: I'm unsure of what to expect. DSD33 is supposed to be a high-yield strain and growing with a hydroponic method can both hasten and increase the volume of a grow according to my research. If all three plants grow under ideal circumstances I'm hoping to see a few ounces of dry bud and enough trimmings to make other end products.
Cloning: I may like to clone the best plant of the three at some point, but my research here is limited so far. More research coming in the next few weeks.
Learning: Understanding and gaining experience in working with a DWC hydroponic system will be valuable in future grow endeavors. Balancing water pH, building the system, feeding liquid nutrients, training the limb growth, and other misc concepts are likely much more simple in practice than in theory, as I have a tendency to overthink and over-research. Keeping regular logs will be essential to studying this grow in retrospect, so I will be keeping a daily account of multiple statistics (water ph, light cycle, training, etc).
