Okay, so I didn’t think this seed would actually terminate as it was a joke. I didn’t use the cup of water and seed soak technique. I just planted it directly into some dollar tree soil I got for my kitchen window garden. So because the soil was so cheap, I didn’t even expect the seed to sprout. So I figured I’m going to grow it and see what I produce.
I’m not sure if the picture I chose uploaded, but the other plants in the picture are bell pepper plants.
On Sunday of day 1, my boyfriend destroyed my tent in an attempt to be petty. Dumped her out her container. So I had to do an emergency transplant.
Day 5 the first set of leaves began to die. Day 6 I cut the them off because I feared that it may be disease cause I saw an gnat in the tent and a plant across the room had a bug on it so in case it was disease, I just snipped them off. wouldve rather lost the plant to my own mistake than to disease lol.
No nutes. I just wanted to let it kinda adapt to its “new environment.” I will say I was losing faith as ignorance really looked like it was dying. Two of the leaves were turning yellow then brown then black, so I felt like my like it was smart to just snip them off before it reached the stem in case it wasn’t a disease or something I think my soil maybe may have been packed too tightly so it couldn’t “breathe” so I kind of a “stirred it up” a bit. Once I did that it came bsck to life.
I actually snipped the leaves before i cut them off completely but i forgot to take a pic.
I guess it hit a growth spurt and just began growing fast. IM guessing it’s recovered from it’s not near death experience.
Also was having a rust problem in my tent with some other plants and it got to one of its leaves.
This week I transplanted it to a bigger container because the roots began to creep out the bottom of the pot. I still fertilize about every other watering with a small amount of Jobes. I’ve topped it last week and the two new branches have grown considerably fast. The roots are beginning to creep play around the drain holes so I figure it’ll be time to transplant soon.
I have springtails and gnats. Not horrible yet tho. And for the rust I bought some fungicide3 and that helped well for that. Not so much for the insects.
And also, I have regulars LED bulbs like what you put in a ceiling fan. How far should those be from my plants? I’ve toyed with it and can’t tell what’s best.
This was a pretty chill week. The roots were coming out the bottom of the last bucket so I went ahead and transplanted to a 5 gal bucket. IM TRYing to train it and give the bottom more light because some tops are being blocked.
This was just another chill veg week.
There hasn’t been any preflowers yet and it’s drinking about a gallon a day. I’m ready to put it into flower I’m just wondering if I should wait for preflowers. I’ve learned she LOVES high humidity. I’ve increased the humidity and temps and she is flourishing now.
I’m worried about needing to transplant during flower, should I put her in a bigger pot or you think she would be fine in the 5 gallon. 10 weeks seems long for veg and strangely I can’t find any info on people begging for more than 4 or 5 weeks.
I’m not concerned so much about yield as I honestly and a hobbyist gardener and I’m just enjoying growing this plant and learning it’s needs and taking care of it. But what do you think the yield would be? If she wasn’t LSTed, she’d be about 18 inches high.
I flipped the switch on Monday. Overnight the preflowers grew. When I woke up on Tuesday, they were there. It’s stretching pretty quickly I guess. This is my first grow so I really don’t have a reference lol. But other than the lights, nothing else has changed.
She's really just chillin' right now. I switched nutrient from Jobes (Walmart) to General Hydroponics. I honestly enjoy the Jobes brand and I think my girls did too. But they're enjoying the general hydroponics too. So i guess i'll continue with the GH. My next round I'm going to try Jobes bloom fert.
