6-24 Wow, the Sour Diesel exploded and grew a 6 inch root, the BB is taking off normally. I had to transplant (decided to try 6 inch cups DWC) and lost a lot of root from the SD. I used Calmag and Rapid start at 100 ppm for the first ten days. *Targeting 80F and 75% RH

Decided to ditch the buckets and bucket lid net cups. Designed a single reservoir DWC/Flood and drain hybrid with 2 6" net cups. I used 1/4 tubing and made a ring around the outside of the net cup at about the middle of the cup and the height of the rockwool bottom. Timer will pump solution to outside and bottom of net cups without flooding the transition zones (I hope). Once the roots reach the reservoir, I may not need to pump up to the cups. 7-4 Moved into tent. Mixed CalMag, Rapidstart, Micro, Gro, and bloom at 200 ppm. set timer to water 1 minute every 2 hours. Currently targeting 80 F 70% RH 7-6 Too wet. Within 24 hours it was apparent I was flooding the root zone (droopy leaves). It seems like the vapor escaping the reservoir is plenty of moisture to get these girls going and may not need to pump solution up at all. I removed the watering rings from the hydroton and I'll wait and see what happens. I should see roots within a couple of days if everything is OK. 7-8 upper and lower growth is apparent but these girls are not happy. Appearance suggests root zone issues and I don't doubt it at all. I lowered air power to the bubblers to reduce escaping vapor which is over soaking the hydroton. There is one root coming from the side of the SD now. no visible BB root yet...I haven't lost faith in this design yet because when I lift the cups I can see the bottom half is wet while the top half is dry, which over time the plant will adapt its structures to match. (if they don't die first, lol) There should be plenty of space for the roots to find air. Time will tell.

7-13 So far, so good. Plants look OK (not great). Reservoir is hitting high 70's so I am adding a chiller. Light is around 15k Lux, 78F 65% RH PPM under 250. Venting heat keeps lowering RH too much. Wishing for a room instead of a tent...

7-17 Topped off with a little too much water, plants got a bit droopy. Installed low water indicator about 1.5 inch lower than current level. Added 2 tsp FloraBlend and ppm is barely 200. Added a second humidifier and leaving the top of door open to keep cool enough (under 80) without exhaust fan and RH around 60%. Added a chiller but it made the water hot (lol at myself...as I installed it, "where is the heat going?") 7-21 preflowers on both plants

I've been running ppm in the 200's. VPD under 1. Neither plant is happy -one is under nourished and the other looks hyper. Early on I wasn't titrating Calmag as much as other nuts for auto's (ended up deficient last grow) but then the Sour diesel took on too much CalMag. These girls need food but when they get it they try to take up a weeks worth of nutrients in one day. I can see why so many growers won't grow autos...finicky unpredictable bitches. One again though, the Bruce Banner is the better of the two (even though SD started out better)

7-27 Added side lights, another air pump and two fans on an interval timer pointing into the plants. 7-30 Removed all secondary node sites. I plan on minimum LST while removing all but cola prospects. 7-31 Mixed almost 11 gallons with 12.5ml ArmorSI, 3/4 tsp PH up PH=6.6 9ml CalMag, 19ml Micro, 19 ml Gro, 28.5 Bloom, 10ml KoolBloom, 20 ml Hydroguard PH=6.1 PPM=360

Once again Bruce Banner outgrows its neighbor. For me, this confirms BB's voracity with super growth claims. Been running only 200-350 ppm -basic flower ratios, No Fulvic acid. DWC seems OK to me but I'm still learning. It seems like the plants uptake nutrients at a dangerous rate. ie If I kept the solution at 500 ppm or higher I'm pretty sure they'd stress out and go toxic (The SD would be worse). I haven't tried to max these girls growth potential and I don't plan too either. VPD 1 and giving them just enough to look alright. (quite opposite of the last grow)

Bruce Banner is attempting to land on the moon while Sour diesel hasn't even stretched enough to spread out. Mixing solution at less than half recommended concentration. 500 ppm seems to be good nuff. 9 gallons of R.O. water with 20 ml ArmorSI, 20 CalMag, 30 Micro, 11.25 Gro, 50 bloom, 11 Koolbloom and 18 ml hydroguard for a ppm of 630 and ph 6.0. Topping off with more than a gallon a day already. There is a slight microbe infection now. The ph keeps slowly drifting down (instead of up) but its not too bad yet. I've started being more careful and using h2o2 to clean things. I've got about 3 weeks to go so this is going to get messy.
