Everything went allright as usual, kept a good splash of water on it at all times. Dont panic if nothing happens first few days, outerlayer needs some time to soak and burst. Cant say if this is the best method, yet it never failed me.
Bad weather almost killed my plant after having a -2 for 5 days in a row. I made a quick little greenhouse for her with bamboo stick and kitchenfoil. After 4 days that seems to help a bit and the decline slowed down.
The plants survived 2 horrible months, where in 2020 and 2019 it was very hot and dry in spring. I wanted to take advantage of that and move my baby out early thank god i chose monsterprofit. It proved to be very resilient and got back into growing.
Something happened overnight and my second largest branch had completely broken of, even ripping open the mainbark. At that point a 1/4 loss allready but that doesnt bother me. What bothers me is how the wound will effect the rest of the tree. The picture is the branch that broke of, i did clonex and pray but i died. I dried it and added into my clay/compost/chickenshit mix and enjoy her beauty
Final stage of vegetation. Few more weeks left before flowering starts. Cant wait to have that Hazelicous smell around. Anyone ever had dream machine?its one of her parents and I have never smoked it and im very curious about the taste especially!
My defence system of having anti insect plants around my plants, have plants that attract insect all the way on the other side ( i take potatoes for that). Ofcourse i cant prevent all of it. But shes okay and i having got any serious insect trouble yet
, i will continue 1 or two more months with my nettle/chickenshit combi and then switch to more kalium rich stuff. I use composed leftovers of vigs and sometimes bananapeels.
After a long wait the flowering period started this week. Due to bad weather and the little baby plant being moved outdoors allready, wich almost killed it. It still managed to get used to envirement and has a proper size. Next weeks im prepairing a shinetrue roof above the plant to avoid too much rain in september, normally very wet overhere. I will also start with the support bamboostick to prevent snapping. Happy growing everyone
Decided to do some testing regarding defolation. Cleared two side branches on both sides of the plant to see if it will bring more or less bud at the end. I also saw away a big branche of the neighboring apple tree.
Was expecting to see some bud development bu(d)t nothing yet, im doubting i can finish her, i cant move her ofcourse she's in full ground. Trying my best to prevent toprot and i release my chicken everyday to patrol for caterpillars and such
