All the newbie mistakes possible. This strain has recovered quickly from:
1) over watering
2) nutrient burn
3) pesticide burn
God bless this forgiving strain.
We will be in veg for awhile.
Panic mode. Red stems can mean soooo many things.
Red stems is like a warning light. Something is going to go horribly wrong.
Damping off is a thing. Its like root rot but it affects the stem when the top soil is too wet.
There were some mercy killings.
I picked up the Lucky13 pack of seeds. I had 13 seeds instead of the usual 10.
I wasn't going to plant all but again I was panicked that I could lose all the seedlings so I germinated the 2nd half of my seeds.
Treatment: I treated all the affected seedlings with hydrogen peroxide. Using a cotton swab and pouring hydrogen peroxide to the base of my seedlings.
As soon as they recovered I transplanted to a smaller container and dialed back my watering, lowered my humidity levels and increased my air circulation.
***I’m journaling this now in july but is was all happening the last week of April.
Plants were recovering from stem rot and a couple were coming up.
The second set of seeds were coming up quick.
The strain is making up for a newbie grower.
God protect these plants from me!
Everything was looking up until a thrip got into the grow room. The internet said Pyrethrin would take care of then asap.
Sprayed the plants before turning the lights of for the night.
The growing crown stayed wet over night and suffered a sulfur burn from the pyrethrin. It took me a week to figure out this was the problem and not some strain issue. The leaves looked like there was insect damage and the leaves were growing in deformed but it was for sure the pyrethrin.
Again, miraculously the girls were able to pull through another grower error. Mighty quickly.
There is 2 Royal Highness plants in the grow room.
As the plants recovered I took the time to step back and really think about my values and how I grow my household plants, my family food and just healing in general.
I started my super soil, removed pesticides & non chemical solutions to pests.
Learned about microbes & how the plants microbiome affects the plant.
Why synthetic nutrients can easily burn your plants and also affect the soils microbiology, etc.
We walked into June like a boss grower!
Brewed my own blend of compost tea and used a fish tank air bubbler.
Plants back on track and growing quickly.
Using light dimmer to control lighting.
Lots of fans
Soil dressing to prevent any fungus nats
No thrip
2nd set of seedlings have been catching up to the Eternals (original seedlings)
The Royal Highness are still in the inside grow but expect to move them outside.
