Growing in a 5 gallon self watering/self wicking bucket. My man Leon from Gardening with Leon on YouTube gave me this idea. Check out his video that gave me the idea here: https://youtu.be/oSl8s4hyVZY
7/5 - Soaked the seed in water for 24 hours
7/6 - transferred seed to paper towel in a glass Tupperware. Sat on top of the fridge in dark for 36 hours.
7/8 - Planted straight into Fox Farms soil once the taproot was about 1” long.
Seed went into 5 gallon wicking bucket with Fox Farms soil. I layered Happy Frog on top of Ocean Forest. I did about half of the pot full of Ocean Forrest mixed with a one gallon of Perlite and then layered Happy Frog with another gallon of Perlite on top of that.
Soil was misted with water until moist and the placed in direct sun for about an hour and then moved into indirect sunlight.
7/9 - misted in the morning and left in direct sun from 9am to 2pm. They were misted again and moved into shade from 2pm-5pm then moved into indirect sun from 5pm-sunset.
@Kitties_and_Colas, I can’t even imagine. this heat and the fabric pots have me watering all the time and I’ve got mine right near the spigot. Check out Gardening with Leon on YouTube. That’s where I got the idea and he has a larger scale version I plan to use in the future.
@RecreationalRoots, its a really cool idea, ill follow to see how it turns out 😺...we have to cart water to our outdoor stuff most years and it can be an insane amount of work
@Kitties_and_Colas tbh this is my first time growing. I have two other plants that are about 4 weeks older than this grow (check out that diary) that I’ll be able to compare this one to so hold tight and I’ll let you know. It definitely is making a huge difference in extending the time between watering s compared to fabric pots.
