Herboneus Started out with Phoenix Seeds White Widow Express Auto, 4 seeds – 3 germinated within 3 days the other was a no-show. Then for some unknown reason I decided to burn the crap out of them, I think I just got my feed water confused…too stoned more than likely.
By the end of the first week I had placed them in to my DWC system (3 air stones in a 36ltr tank).
I top feed the plants with a separate feed pump, located within the reservoir tank for the first 3-4 weeks, some people call this Bubbleponics? This is my first attempt using this technique but some friends of mine have had great results with this method, so fingers crossed.
Hopefully they will survive the burning I gave them…

Herboneus The two plants selected appear to have recovered from the burning I gave them and are starting to grow in to young plants.
The root development within the DWC is good. My initial thoughts on the top feed system is that it works well, the plants appear to be thriving.
My ‘Lab’ as I call it, is a Gorilla grow in my own home, it’s a space of 1.5 x 1.2 x 1.6 (DxWxH) using Spider Farmer SF1000 LED light. The main issue I face is humidity…. I really struggle to control it so have to use lots of fans for maximum air movement.
See how we go as these get bigger.
Herboneus The plants are growing well, but don’t appear to be putting any height on?
The main difference is in the thickness of the main stem and the root system. Both of which are doing very well.
I upped the feed strength again this week, I’m still a big wimp after my initial disaster.
Top feed is till on at this time, I will probably take off during week 4 – but no longer as it can cause root crown rot.

Herboneus Lots of new growth, a little gain in height but mainly filling out. The plant on the left is not doing as well as the one on the right? Both have the same exact conditions and feed, so I am not sure why other than genetics?
The Top feed will be switched off and the pump removed this week. The water in the reservoir appears to fluctuate by about 2C? I’m not sure why that is, but it’s not a problem.
The roots look great on both plants.

Herboneus First time Autoflower grow using DWC, 36ltr tank with 3 air stones, using General Hydroponics Nutes, SF1000 LED light. everything growing like crazy at the moment.
Nutes between 900 and 1000 ppm , not sure if I can push it more? But dosent look like it needs any more. Some LST, but I'm new to it and i think I was to cautious. Plants are not to tall but I did over feed them during week 1 a rookie mistake I guess, but they recovered. Roots looking well, but I have purchased some Hydroguard to try and protect the roots, but they look ok to me, but different on each plant?

Herboneus Growing well, starting to fill out more, starting to stretch upwards and outwards. pH needs monitoring daily, I check it at least twice a day.
Roots growing strong, i am changing the water once per week at the moment.
Herboneus Both plants exploded with growth throughout this period, but the plant on the right has gone mad and is almost twice the size of the plant on the left? The roots on both plants look strong and healthy. biggest issue I have is humidity, its gone crazy and I cant get it down. I have three fans running full time just moving air, on top of the main far removing the air through the filter - its windy in their....
Lots of flowers now appearing and starting to appear throughout both plants. The plants consume around 2ltrs / day of water.
Herboneus I have clearly made a mistake by not training / defoliating these plants - The amount of growth over the previous weeks has been crazy, but now it’s starting to focus on flowering. The flowers are still very small but there are lots of them, thankfully – the big issue I have is that I have run out of room in the Lab! Width, depth and height are all maxed out… nothing I can do but trim and squeeze it in….lol
So I’ll try not to make this mistake again - doing a little LST and not using a net – one to remember for next time. Most stuff I have ever grown have been small plants in comparison.
The other big issue I am still fighting is humidity… it’s around 90% and I cannot get it to reduce, so lots of fans moving the air and the extraction fan changing the air in the Lab several times per minute – there are no visible signs of the high humidity, everything is dry, but the two meters I use both read very high and are located in different parts of the Lab. I will just have to keep a close eye out for mould and keep it windy….
But looking at the two plants, the Left hand side is only half the height of the right and nowhere near as bushy, genetics I guess as they have had the same growing conditions form day one.
pH has been somewhat troublesome to manage over the past few weeks, it changes several times per day and ranges from 5.5 to 6.0 - So checking it at least twice a day, is now the norm.
The plants are consuming around 1.5 – 2.5 litres of water per day and the roots are looking very healthy.
Also realised that my carbon filter and fan are located in the wrong space, sick of banging my head on it – so will readjust the Lab after this grow. Neaten things up a little.
