This here is my second grow (1st in CoolGrows tent) and I’m proud to say I’ve fucked up significantly less than my Fyre Festival of a rookie season - 2 plants died in veg then my grow light fell on the only plant left that was 3 weeks into flower, severing 2 colas.
So, yeah, while I have def dinked up a few things on this grow, it’s the garden of eden relative to the the nightmare on weed street that was my first attempt.
Things I fucked up this time (so far) and won’t do next time:
- Overcrowded the space. Got greedy and tried to fit 4 plants in my 3x3x6 tent. 0/10 would not recommend.
- Tried growing 1 indica strain with the 3 WWxBBs. WWxBBs quickly grew taller and started robbing the lil indica friend’s light.
- Added 2nd net a little late. It’s looser than it ought to be I’m not sure it’s providing ideal structural support to colas but prob better than nothing?
- Want to try lollipopping next time. Air flow is ok but fan leaves are blocking light to some lower Bud sites and likely sapping energy that could be going to bud production.
I’m probably messing something else up that I don’t even know I’m messing up. If you’re reading this and see something I could be doing better, let me know. Here to learn and grow the dopest dope possible.
Love,
Chip
@spyder, took your advice and used DE. Didn’t have a camera lens duster but I do have a turkey baster and it actually worked pretty well lol. So far it looks like I’m mite free! 🙌 I’m 1000% going to use the tent lining trick next time around as a preventative measure - that’s a great call. Can’t thank you enough for the killer advice! Saved my plants 🤝
@ChipHella, i use diatomaceous earth, it doesnt harm the plants and actually gives them silica..i usually sprinkle on tent floor before a grow to hopefully prevent issues...but i have used on mites, when i accepted clones from a buddy that had mites..( no more clones from others since) i have an old camera lens duster,,it looks like the rubber ball type ear wax remover..it is a hollow ball with a small tip with hole...if squeeze it then put into the powder it sucks it into the ball when release it.....then you can puff the powder out underneath the leaves as well as on top,,then sprinkle some on top of soil..it takes a little time and maybe a few times ( to get new hatched etc) before all gone as they dont die right away with it..but it does work..and its safe for people and pets etc..I get food grade diatomaceous earth..you can actually eat it...I dont...lol...hope this helps..
Happy growing! I hope you get some good results! Take care and stay lit! I will drop by sometimes to check on your process! Say hello if you ever visit my page!
Peace & Love - L.S.T 🙏🏼🌟
