Hi to eveyone!
This is my first time growing cannabis so I'm really excited!
I selected this variety because here in Italy is totally legal to grow and Finola Strain produces high CBD content (that I'm going to use as medicine).
Sadly only 12 seeds germinated. Half of them sprouted in the soil 1 day after being germinated in a towel. The other half sprouted in 2 days.
The plants are growing quite fast and strong. I'm trying to water the plants with 7.35 pH and 0,1 ml/l of a 15% Nitrogen nutrient for testing even though I know that the water should be a little acid.
The photos were taken the 3rd day of the week, but by the end of the week the plant already developed the 3rd node.
This autoflower seems very quick! It took only 2 weeks to flower. Obviously the 15 full sun hours helped a lot.
I always knew I don't have so much luck but 3 females out of 12 plants is very low.
I can't discourage myself right now. I think I'm going to use the males for some seed production.
This week was quite windy and 3 plants needed a "wooden stand" to help them stay up right.
THRIP ALERT!!
I noticed some white spots on the leaves so I assumed that there was a Mag/Cal deficency, but then I noticed at first white "eggs" and then I spotted the thrips.
The pollen sacs already begun opening so I had to move the females to another place and transpant them into the ground.
I didn't expect so much growth in just 2 weeks so I didn't Topped/Fimmed in time.
I tried fimming 2 male plant and topping 2 male plant. Only 1 of topped male recovered.
This week was good and bad.
GOOD FACTS OF THE WEEKS:
- The plants begun an exponential growth: 39 cm in only 1 week!
- Thrips are not more present (without pesticides and/or treatment)
- Plant NR.3 is really beautiful: lush green leaves and the flowers begun to turn a little purple
- Trichomes begin to form as you can see by the photos
BAD FACTS:
- The weather was really bad: 70 km/h wind, only half a day of full sun and lots of rain
I decided to use some solid nutrients to help the flowering process until the next week where I'm going to use liquid nutrients.
Because of the weather I couldn't pick up a lot of odour from the plant but they for sure started to smell.
And here we are at week 5.
This week was quite sunny and windy. It rained 3 times, 5 minutes each time.
Unfortunately plant-6-flower's got impollinated (don't ask how 😅😂), so I had to remove half of the "branch".
I threw some solid manure (slow releasing) to help the flowering stage. Half a hand lasts a full week.
I noticed a small deficency of Calcium so I add to my watering mix a small dose of CalMag.
The plants were defoliated and deflowered 1/3 the way up. The flowers that got removed were very little and couldn't grow more.
At the end of the week:
- plant 6 was 90cm tall (+ 33cm from last week)
- plant 8 was 62cm tall (+ 16cm)
- plant 3 was 50cm tall (+ 7cm)
The plants begun to have a different smell: "Small Buri Khalifa" has a pungent synthetic orange smell, almost fuel like. "The Purple One" has the best odour profile in my opinion: piney, sweet balsamic and origan. The last one, the "Orange" as the name suggests reminds me of a good orange 😍.
P.S. Thank you all for the support and the positive comments. See you next week!
FIRE HOT WEEK! 💥
My area was hit by a big heat wave, we had 15 hours of 37°C (98.6°F) during the day, and during the night temperatures didn't go below 25°C (77°F).
"Orange" begun to build up a lot of flowers. It started also foxtailing on the top.
I tried to defoliate "Small Burj Khalifa" to test the differences after defoliation: I will use "Orange" as a control because of the similar pheno.
Some flowers of "Orange" and "Small Burj Khalifa" begun to turn purple and deep orange. "The Purple One" flowers are (almost all of them) now a deep purple.
The plants this week didn't grow to much in height: about 3cm each of them.
The whole week has been at perfect RH and Temperature ranges: beetween 25°C and 31°C degrees during day (mostly 28°C), beetween 30% humidity and 50%.
"Orange" is the plant that now I love the most. It's begun to fill the cola with a whole lot of flowers.
The other two plants didn't change too much this week but still they have grown.
A little deficiency showed up but I am not going to wait before dealing with it.
P.S. Sorry for the bad quality photos.
This week I left home and I couldn't water or watch my plants.
"The Purple One" presented a little of bud rot and worst of all it had 2 seeds. I have no idea how it got impollinated.
