1-sept: The dead spots on the leaves are due to my clumsiness; I have dropped nutrient water on her by mistake. I have a very small tent so I'm glad she's growing short and not stretching like the first week. The thing that surprises me is that she has already started to emit the smell we all know to love. But gotta stay stealth. I'll be adding a carbon filter to the extraction fan by the end of this week. Peace. Fingers crossed.

Grow Questions

I used a three gallon pot and filled it, with moist soil, to around 70% capacity. Would this soil be enough for a single Royal Gorilla Auto or Should I add more soil? If the answer is positive then how should I go about it? Any help is greatly appreciated since I am a total noob.

The 3 gallon pot looks like a good size for your tent but I would fill the pot with soil. As the plant grows the soil level will drop. I had done some auto's in 3 gallon fabric pots filled to the top. Lately I grow auto's in 5 gallon fabric pots filled to the top. 3 gallon will grow nice plants but I got bigger plants and more yield with 5 gallon pots. I use a old soldering iron or heat a nail and burn holes around the top edge of the pot. They are great locations to attach wire/string if you do low stress training.

So, this is her 24 hours after she first came out of the soil. I am trying to follow 18-6 light cycle. The height is two inches. Does she look a little lanky to you guys? Should I lower the light a little bit?

So, I am using tap water and its ppm is between 300-400. However I just checked by runoff water PPM and it came over 2500 with ph around 6. I have not used any fertilizer whatsoever and the soil is BioBizz Ligth Mix. What could be causing this issue?

If your plant is growing well, is there a real problem? Your high readings are probably from the fertilizers the manufacturer added to their soil mix.

I am using a full spectrum LED that draws only 30W from the wall but it might be too weak since my plant is getting lanky. I have moved it closer to the plant but now I am afraid of over-heating. How many watts LED would be sufficient for my 40cmX40cmx120cm tent?

Meter that light if you can...that's really the only way to really know what it's delivering at any given height, though 30w seems scant at best. You might want to look into running your light 20/4 or even 24h to make up for lack of firepower with extra exposure time...you'll probably have a better chance of success. Before I went and bought a higher powered light I was sitting with ~100w or so and an experienced professional grower suggested I go 20/4 or 24h to make up for lack of delivered PPFD.

My light accidentally fell on my seedling and broke the stem right below the first set of leafs. The stem, however, did not break in half but it folded over. I have added support to keep it straight. Is there anything else I could do to improve her chances of recovery?

Looks great honestly I can’t even tell anything happened to it. I’d bet she’ll make it just fine. If it’s still looking good 24-48 after the accident - you’re in good shape and no need to worry

I added more soil and buried an inch of the stem because of an accident that I had. To prevent stem rot I used dry soil. She has recovered from the accident. How long should I wait before watering her and causing the newly added soil to get wet? (details in diary)

Plants still pretty small. If u believe the tap root still has water just water a little around the plant not at the stem. Make the roots stretch out to the ends of the pot

She has this one spot on the leaf. It is only on the upper side, meaning if i look underneath the leaf there is no such mark. I have no idea what it could be. If it indicates some sort of problem then I would like to get it under control before it propagates any further.

At the moment it is too early to say the cause. But the only thing I can tell you is that: the chlorophyll is degrading. That means you might have a magnesium deficiency.

I just noticed these tiny white dots on the leaf. They weren't there this morning when I checked. I have no idea what it could be. Any help please?

So I did some research and everything suggests that the reason could be some kind of bug. So I have sprayed her with neem oil emulsion and turned off the lights. I read that neem oil works better in the absence of light because of the temperature drop.
