Got 6 seeds of each strain wet August 5th. After 24 hours of soaking in RO filtered water on a heat mat, each seed was planted into happy frog soil and put under a humidity dome. All 6 Carmella Soprano seeds sprouted on August 9th and quickly dropped their shells. The Coal Train Kush seeds also started sprouting on the 9th, but only 3 had sprouted on that day, followed by the 4th on the 10th. The Coal Train Kush seeds seemed to have a much more difficult time shedding their shells and I lost one of the four seedlings due to a stuck shell. I will be taking a cotyledon off of each of these seedlings on Monday to have their sex identified early on through Delta Leaf Labs and will log the process of that here, as well.

Day 8 veg (day 21 since sprout). Carmella Soprano plans are doing very well and Coal Train Kush are running a little behind in growth rates. Both strains seemed to have settled in and are growing well.

Day 15 veg (day 28 since sprout). I received the majority of the DNA sexing results from Delta Leaf Labs on Friday, so I culled the males and picked out 2 females from each strain to transplant into 1 gallon pots. The root ball of each plant was dusted with mycos, then transplanted, and drenched with water mixed with some CalMag and a little bit of silica. The Coal Train Kush is picking up steam and catching up to the Carmella Soprano.

Day 22 veg (day 35 since sprout). The plants have settled into their 1 gallon pots and are picking up speed. The roots are starting to poke out the bottom of the pots so I will likely transplant them mid week into the 10 gallon pots so I can get started on topping and training. They got a top dressing of some veg fertilizer and some CalMag solution with some silica added to the water throughout the week.

Day 28 veg (day 41 since sprout). due to my work schedule, I needed to get these transplanted today, so they each went into their final 10 gallon pots. The Carmella Soprano in front has been really taking off. I'm not sure if it is just a very strong female, or if the DNA sex test I had done was wrong and this is actually a male, so I will be keeping a close eye on it. The other three plants are staying much smaller and bushier so I'm more confident those are all females. The Coal Train Kush in the back had very little root development. That plant was slower to take up water so it's a possibility that I over watered it early on and it is still recovering. I'm hoping they start to take off now that they have a larger pot and more stable environment to grow in. I'm contemplating topping the front Carmella Soprano, tomorrow, but will definitely hold off on topping the other three plants until next weekend.

Day 35 veg (day 48 since sprout). All of the plants have been growing well with the exception of that one Coal Train Kush runt in the back. I topped and pinned down all 4 plants today. If I don't see any substantial growth from that Coal Train Kush runt, then I will cull it, and replace it with a Sangria Cookies plant that is growing well but didn't make the cut for the flower tent.

Day 42 veg (day 55 since sprout). The stunted Coal Train Kush plant seems to be doing better and is picking up steam so I'm going to just leave it be. Each plant got top dressed with about 2TBSP fertilizer and a handful of worm castings mid week. I plan on flipping these into flower tomorrow.

Day 8 flower (day 63 since sprout). Plants were flipped into flower last week. The small plant is still having issues but the new growth looks healthy. All 4 plants got a dose of recharge on Friday.

Day 15 flower (day 63 since sprout). Plants have grown a lot over the last week but I've been sick so I haven't really done anything with them but make sure the water reservoir has been topped off and the lights were raised.

Day 21 flower (day 69 since sprout). The plants are all flowering nicely but I found pollen sacs on all 4 plants on Wednesday. Some had already released some pollen ,so I removed all the sacs I could find, and I'm just going to keep moving forward and see how the plants turn out. This is for personal use so, as long as the bud doesn't get heavily seeded, it won't be a problem for me. All plants got lolli-popped and each received 1L of recharge on Wednesday

Day 28 flower (day 76 since sprout). The front Carmella Soprano plant got heavily seeded from the pollen sacs that I found last week. I still haven't decided if I'm going to cull it or just let it finish and process it into hash. The other 3 plants also seeded but not nearly as badly as that one plant. The aroma of the plants has kicked up and they are getting a lot of frost on them already. Each plant received 2TBSP Roots Organics Uprising Bloom and 1L of water with CalMag and Recharge.

Day 35 flower (day 83 since sprout). This was a rough week for the plants because we lost power from a storm and they went 3.5 days with no lights and 1.5 days with no fans. I was able to get the fans on a generator that was powering our furnace and fridge and the plants surprisingly seem fine so far.

Day 44 flower (day 92 since sprout). Had a water blockage with the blumats in the back Carmella Soprano pot but caught it before it did any major damage. Lost a few leaves but the plant bounced back as soon as I fixed the issue and gave her a good watering. I'm going to grow another batch of these at some point, because I had some issues with this grow, and I'd like to see how they do when I keep the environment a little more dialed in. I'm not going to bother posting pictures of the front Carmella Soprano plant because it got pollinated so early that the flowers really haven't changed in the last few weeks and are just growing seeds.

Day 49 flower (day 97 since sprout). The plants smell great and seem to be focusing on fattening up the buds. The back Coal Train Kush that has been the runt looks like it's going to take a week or two longer to finish than the rest of the plants. Plants each got 1L of water with recharge and 3mL CalMag mixed in.

Day 56 flower (day 104 since sprout). The Carmella Soprano flowers are looking really nice and are staring to get nice and dense. The Coal Train Kush look like they will need to go longer than the Carmella Soprano. I'm thinking the Carmella Soprano will be ready for harvest in 1-2 weeks and the Coal Train Kush will be at least a week or two behind.

The front plant that got seeded early on grew long airy buds like you would see on landrace sativa plants. It still produced plenty of trichomes, and it smells fantastic, so I will process the entire plant into CBD hash after it dries. I toyed with the idea of fresh freezing it, instead of drying, but I just don't have enough freezer space to accommodate doing that. The back plant produced some beautiful flowers that are nice and dense. Some of the lower flowers got seeded but all the colas and mid level flowers look great. Overall, I'm really happy with how these plants turned out, especially with the rough start and the power outage they went through. I'm sure the next time I run this strain it will go much more smoothly. I didn't bother to weight these because it is a pain in the ass to do so without a hanging scale. Note to self: buy a hanging scale

These plants came out beautiful...even the runt in the back I stunted early on. The flower structure on these look like they will dry and trim up really nicely and they smell fantastic.
