This is my first post to the Grow Diary website, this is a bit of a work in progress.
The RDWC Autopilot system is going exceedingly well, I am able to remote into and control the settings from my phone as I travel throughout the week. This has proven to be helpful for my personality of wanting to check in daily, however not being able to in person is impossible. Up until today, I have not done any pruning other than an early topping of the two plants when they were sprouting nodes 4-5. The leaves under the main canopy are starting to yellow and die due to the inability to absorb adequate light. The density of the plants are very high, allowing minimal penetration of light past the first 6-10".
Looking at the development of the two plants, I suspect they will be harvested at different times. One is full on flower and is starting to swell and the other is smaller and just beginning to put on size. The stretch between the two plants is quite different. This being my second grow, I have now seen this occur twice. The first time I associated the differences with the pheno types of the seeds, however I am beginning to believe that it is light related. On my next grow, this theory will be confirmed. On one side of the tent, the right, the SF2000 was present and on the left side of the tent, the SF1000 was located. Both maintained similar heights throughout the grow, which makes me wonder if there is something going on with the light differences. Both times the SF1000 produced a large amount of stretch. I will wait until I finalize my findings in the future, one is a point, two is a line, three is a trend. I am going to switch the SF1000 to the other side of the tent on the next grow.
I feel you, my counter question is: who is to define what the term "good life" actually equates to, and then who is to say one is correct in their definition? That's a good question Sat... I'll ponder this until I have a better answer.
Well, it might not be the final answer but it will definitely help you get there:
A day with weed and no money is better than a day with money and no weed.
@Ezzjaybruh, No problem, here is the quick rundown.
Most of the automation I am relying on Bluelab pro controller and their pump systems. I have two of their units monitoring pH and EC as a backup and validation point to the data being provided. Just in case one unit is drifting I can compare. This is all controlled from my phone.
In all, I have 9 peristaltic pumps feeding the RDWC system all accessible remotely through vpn connection to the laptop sitting on my workbench.
The water filling is done with my home brewing kegs, as the water level drops it refills the res. This is in turn connected to a water line, the second res is to allow the water to adjust to room temperature.
Fans, room temperature, and humidity is controlled through sensors I can access remotely through my phone, the temperature and humidity is datalogged so I can track VPD.
The cameras are simple, they are Blink units. I had them setup outside the home and just put a couple in the tent.
My last piece which I am printing parts for is the lights. Soon I will be able to adjust the height remotely.
I am gone for 5-8 days in a row and so far I have been able to dial in everything remotely from my iPhone. It may sound like a lot, but this has been extremely reliable and simple.
Happy growing! I hope you get some good results! Take care and stay lit! I will drop by sometimes to check on your process! Say hello if you ever visit my page!
