I spent most of last week in town, which was a great change of pace. Besides sleeping in my own bed, I checked in on the grow in the evenings. This was enjoyable and therapeutic; it was nice to lay hands on the plants and watch the changes. The plants are continuing to do planty things, grow, and now beginning to fade off. The leaves are losing chlorophyll, and they are developing a nice yellow undertone. I dropped the nutrients further this week, eliminating CalMagic and Koolbloom additions. Next week I will provide water only. Since I am in the downward cycle, instead of adding hydroguard, I hit the reservoir with 100ml of 29% hydrogen peroxide.
There was a couple of changes in the growth that occurred this week. First, the larger buds started showing signs of fox tailing, which is a shame as I had babied this grow all along. Interestingly enough, the smaller plant that was not growing at the same pace started showing signs, which means I can rule out light and heat, as the setups are completely different. It could come down to nutrient stress or simply genetics. With or without foxtails, the bud is still excellent. I tested one of the smaller green buds, and it provided an uplifting feeling. Quite nice.
In two weeks my family will be back home for a couple of days, looking forward to sharing.
I feel you, my counter question is: who is to define what the term "good life" actually equates to, and then who is to say one is correct in their definition? That's a good question Sat... I'll ponder this until I have a better answer.
Well, it might not be the final answer but it will definitely help you get there:
A day with weed and no money is better than a day with money and no weed.
@Ezzjaybruh, No problem, here is the quick rundown.
Most of the automation I am relying on Bluelab pro controller and their pump systems. I have two of their units monitoring pH and EC as a backup and validation point to the data being provided. Just in case one unit is drifting I can compare. This is all controlled from my phone.
In all, I have 9 peristaltic pumps feeding the RDWC system all accessible remotely through vpn connection to the laptop sitting on my workbench.
The water filling is done with my home brewing kegs, as the water level drops it refills the res. This is in turn connected to a water line, the second res is to allow the water to adjust to room temperature.
Fans, room temperature, and humidity is controlled through sensors I can access remotely through my phone, the temperature and humidity is datalogged so I can track VPD.
The cameras are simple, they are Blink units. I had them setup outside the home and just put a couple in the tent.
My last piece which I am printing parts for is the lights. Soon I will be able to adjust the height remotely.
I am gone for 5-8 days in a row and so far I have been able to dial in everything remotely from my iPhone. It may sound like a lot, but this has been extremely reliable and simple.
Happy growing! I hope you get some good results! Take care and stay lit! I will drop by sometimes to check on your process! Say hello if you ever visit my page!
