So far these babies have shown me the most sativa leaf traits of all the strains im currently growing as well as the lightest coloured leaves but they still growing well and strong
They were transplanted into 80L and 30L dog food bag pots at the beginning of week 2 and i have begun giving them 50ml of kelp tea each week.
The soil in the pots is a mix of my backyard soil and homemade kitchen and garden scrap compost; then further amended with bio-char, basalt rock dust, kelp meal, insect frass, bonemeal and pot ash and then layered in the pots with various fresh organic materials in between and aged for over a month before having anything planted in them
With the spring temps coming in they have been growing beautifully and strong.
I topped them both at the end of week 3. Plant 1 at the 4th node and plant 2 at the 5th node and im giving the new nodes abit of time to grow before i start lst
(P.S. I have topped autos before)
I missed a couple of weeks so they pretty well into flower.
They were moved under shade cloth in week 5 due to the mid 30s temps and hail and they were sprayed with 1ml/1l of spinosad in week 7 due to some scale bugs moving into my grow.
Plant 1: with her it was definitely a mistake to top but you live and learn. She also sustained some leaf damage and lost a lower branch to some hail 2 weeks ago but it didnt seem to affect her much. She also hasnt responded the best to lst but is still growing well with good bud structure, good trichome coverage and she smells of citrus with some strong diesel and earthy notes.
Plant 2: she is definitely my favourite in terms of size so far. She also did not take to topping so well as only 1 of the 2 top nodes grew out into a branch. However she still has a good bud to stem ratio and i hope while her buds fill out a fair bit more, they are still caked in trichomes. In terms of smell i dont get much citrus but it is still a good rosemary/herbal smell with hints of diesel and earth
Another week by and closer to harvest. The buds on both bushes have been getting fatter and frostier(especially on plant 2)
The trichomes on both plants are almost fully opaque and the citrus and cream smell is finally starting to come through on plant 1
Thanks for sharing a new diary with one of our strains.
We hope you enjoy it :P
About the substrate I left you a message in the other post ;)
Sweet smokes!
