WW 1st grow

Thanks for all the great advice fellas! Much appreciated. @ShaggyGrower yes unfortunately we had a few days of colder weather and I noticed that the growth has slowed down... wasn’t sure why, so thanks for shedding light on that one.

Found a green worm/caterpillar on the bottom of the leaf. So I guess that answers the question as to what it was... getting rid of it: BT it is!?

I tried pretty much everything last summer to combat slugs/snails... Diatomaceous Earth, egg shells, coffee grinds, etc... The only thing that worked was copper tape. Check out my outdoor diaries to see pics. But I wrapped the outside of the containers a couple of times with the copper tape and also cut the bottom of smaller plastic containers and wrapped them with copper tape also and have the plants growing out from the center. So far no signs of slug/snail damage at all this year. Hope this helps. Good luck!

@CHT79 Hi there! Sad news... If it's caterpillars or inchworms, "Caterpillar BT Spray" & "Spinosad Products" are both safe & organic ways to get rid of them. If you suspect slugs or snails, a beer-trap would be a good way to attract them away. You need to mix some flour in beer in a shallow container (split a yoghourt pot in its height) and push it into the ground, so the invaders can fall into. In both cases I'd recommend to put a larger plastic bottle (5L) around your babies. Finally, you may consider planting some flowers & aromatics to attract everything away from your babies. By multiplying your approaches, you'll win this fight and be rewarded soon ;-) Hope this helps, keep us up-to-date and happy growing! 👊
