After 24hrs in cup of water, then,
24hrs paper towel method all 4 had ¼" tails. 100% Germination.
After 2 days in soil: 1 Coco, and 1 Double C sprouted.
1 of the Coco Melon taproot poked up out of soil, had to adjust.
The 2nd DC is still M.I.A.
Coco Melon has 3x3' space under sf4000.
Double Chocolate has 1.5x3' space under sf2000.
One of the Double Chocolate never sprouted.
Kind of disappointed because I LOVE this strain.
Other than that not much to report. The 2 Coco Melon are growing roots.
Water fed only this week. Starting nutes (GH) next water.
Coco's are getting stronger.
They're rooting nicely. Getting more thirsty now but average amounts.
Double Chocolate doubled in height but seems not rooted well. Had to stake it. Hoping this doesn't turn into a huge problem later.
I've grown this before - very thirsty plant. Loves nutes and being watered above average.
Busy week! Topped 1, fimmed the other (on purpose). Pruned & LST.
I'm still not certain how I want to shape them (given my time restraints).
Double Chocolate is very happily over watered. Strong plant. I'm cloning it's top.
Flipped them on the last day of this week. The Coco I topped is really squat looking while the fimmed one got decent height.
I'll have to elevate her at some point if I want to fill the screen (not my strong point).
Not a true Scrog but the screen is helping to open up the canopy. Next time I use a screen I'll start it much lower and veg it flat.
Having trouble keeping humidity down at night.
Coco Melons only want water every second day.
Double Chocolate can drink morning & night - it's really blooming nicely. Many bud sites.
Minimal selective pruning just to keep bud sites exposed. I'd like to clean up the undercarriage - has gotten too bushy down there.
Coco's are stretching now after 3 weeks 12/12. Double Chocolate seems to have slowed stretch.
Canopy is fairly even I just hope Coco Melons don't stretch too much (reputation for that I've read).
I'm pretty sure my pot sizes are too small. Looks like they're not going to get much taller. I'm going to stick with 5g next run.
Keeping an eye on health and light. Fairly smooth sailing so far.
Coco 1 is fimmed, shorter that it's sister but tighter node spacing.
Coco 2 more stretched by 5". I forsee nice long colas on her (fingers crossed).
The lone Double Chocolate has stopped stretch at 22". Also wish she was in a 5g pot.
I'm giving more watering between feeds cuz I see signs of overfeeding. Sometimes just cut my feed in half.
They're really packed in there now. Really wish I gave them more room. I've been minimally pruning top leaves to expose flowers.
Smell is quite strong now. Fruity, fresh and sweet smells. They're getting sticky too. My hands are tacky when I work on them.
Been adding GH Floralicious plus to water but not in their feeds.
5 weeks to go...
It's a waiting game now.
Coco 1 is squat and building up her buds nicely.
Coco 2 has what looks like a bit of isolated foxtailing on closest to light but I'm not really worried about it.
Double Chocolate and Coco Melon 1 are maturing at the same rate. Double C buds are building and hair tips turning brown.
Coco Melon 1 has purple buds. She is the more squat one. Smells are incredible now.
Coco Melon 2 is not as matured as 1, I'd say at least 1-2 weeks behind coco 1. I had to bend a top 90 deg. Was too close to light.
Double Chocolate is closest to harvest. Hairs very orange/brown. Seems to have stopped bulking. I've been giving only ph'd water past 3 days. Will continue until harvest.
Haven't checked trich's yet though.
I've given them a good flush with ph water. They'll only get water (with molasses occasionally) until harvest.
Coco 1 is ready for harvest according to trich's. I'll be doing that in a few days.
Coco Melon 2 is about 1-2 weeks behind.
Double Chocolate is somewhere in between though her buds are still bulking so I'm not quite sure where she's at exactly. She'll let me know.
Delicious smells coming out quite strong. Fruity, berry, flowery.
I had 4 plants in a 3x3 space. The 2 Coco Melons were in 2g pots and vegged 6 weeks. It got way too crowded - lesson learned.
In spite of this I've got crystal covered purple nugs that smell like Coco!
Initial smoke test: Coco taste, fruity too. Sativa stone 100% .
Love the taste and it's nowhere near cured.
I'll report back on dry weight.
EDIT:
Dry weight:
Coco 1, 64g(2oz)
Coco 2, 72g(2.5oz)
Smoke test after 5 days: Exactly like the last ones I had.
Chocolatey goodness with Haze appeal.
Very pleased with this strain. Sativa high, love the taste.
DOUBLE CHOCOLATE:
My new favorite strain. This is my 3rd time growing Dbl. C. She grows well, trains well and yields well.
124g(4oz) dry bud.
Thank you Canuk Seeds for the tasty strains! 👍
