Pre Wk1; Solo cup germination and preload Canna Coco Pro+ with base nutrients at 6.2pH and 1070EC. Lemon Skunk failed twice and has just broken the surface, so it is roughly 10 days behind the Northern lights. LS didn't like being presoaked. Week 1; Northern Lights Counting week 1 from start of 3rd node growth. Fertigated 1030 @ 6.0pH 30ml which will last it the week. Can see roots on the sides of my cups, so she will be ready for a transplant soon.

Hi Frents! Week 2 on the Northern Lights. This week early veg starts, so I've started running Floramax Organabud for kelp and goodies. I'm running an EC between 1.3 and 1.4 at a pH around 6.0. She was transplanted on the 1st of September to a 2 litre pot, and today has presented roots at the bottom drain holes. She'll stay in this one for another 2 weeks until I transplant her to her final 22 litre fabric pot. There is some interveinal chlorosis, and I think this is because she's hungrier than anticipated. The Floramax suite of nutrients has it's Ca and Mg built in, so normally a calmag additive shouldn't be required but I may need to treat this if it gets worse. Seems to have subsided for now since increasing EC inflow. The good ol' Lemon Skunk, not really much to say here except she's a bit leggy because I had her off to the side rather than under my lights. She took her second fertigation today and is starting to show good root growth around the sides of her cup, so she is about to take off. Peace out, seeya next week!

Helloooooo Growmies 😝 Week 3 complete on the Northern Lights as Lemon Skunk goes into it's 3rd week. I have been a bit liberal with the fertigation as you can see I have some algae on top of my medium, but I'm not concerned about this as it will dissipate once she has a sufficient canopy and less light reaches the perlite. We've got a cold front coming in, so maintaining reasonable temps is a bit challenging. I've raised my SF2000 to 60cm and have reduced the power to 75% to give my Lemon Skunk a bit of a rest. Once she's growing proper leaves, I'll drop the light down to normal veg heights and increase the power % as I go. Northern Lights was topped 2 days ago. Her new nodes have slowed, but the rest of her as continued to grow. Maintaining a higher EC has halted her Mg deficiency, and today I removed the 4 lowest leaves and lowest node growths. This will allow her to start prioritising growth on her other nodes which I will eventually be able to train into a nice flat canopy. Lemon Skunk has had a rough start to life but is starting to come good. You can see from the distorted/twisted leaves and yellowing that she was severely deficient in Ca and Mg. This is my fault as I relied on my Floramax suite to supply sufficient calcium and magnesium, but there is simply not enough at lower EC's to satisfy my coco's cation exchange. Moving forward, despite running a pre-buffered coco product (Canna coco pro+) I'll be pre-loading my substrates with a heavy calmag solution so there's enough for the early stages of life and a nutrient wash before planting simply does not meet the needs of the plant. That's it for this week, seeyas next week. Peace out 👌👻

Hi Growmies! Some significant growth this week on the NL as she recovered quickly from her topping last week. I removed the large fan leaves from the main stem to provide more room for the branches to grow up and she has responded very well. She will get transplanted to her final pot this week as I begin LST and bend down the top branches to meet the lower branches and form a canopy. She'll sit in her final pot for another 3 to 4 weeks before I flip the lights and begin flowering. However, if I decide to chuck my lemon skunk outside and let her go, I may go a bit longer to fill my tent. I don't even know with what's happening with this Lemon Skunk, but I believe she didn't like her substrate due to poor preparation on my part, and some inconsistent pH management with this run of nutrients. The initial calcium and magnesium deficiencies are evident, albeit they have stopped, and now she's clawing which would suggest she doesn't enjoy a high EC due to too much N. To be frank, I'm following a recommendation from the Floramax website which I think is well overtuned as I normally don't exceed an EC of 1.6 when using canna nutes and have had great results. It could also be genetics, 2 seeds from this batch didn't pop so who knows. I won't be reporting on it anymore. Until next week fam, peace out!

Hi Fam! Week 5 done and dusted with some significant growth. I switched my base nutrient back to Canna Coco A + B because I'm familiar with the product and I was running into issues with the manufacturers recommendations on Floramax Vegaflora base nutrients. I've also added additional calmag to satisfy my coco which apparently had a few buffering issues. I'm pretty sure the Floramax line doesn't take frequent fertigation into account, thus recommends EC levels way too high. I will try again on another plant at lower EC targets and see how I go. She appears a little light, but this is damage caused by the high EC feeds she was being given. You will note some burnt tips which popped up last week that signalled an issue and her new growth is nice and healthy. Also, my SF2000 gives off a bit of ambient yellow light. She was transplanted into her 19 litre final home several days ago and hasn't missed a beat. I've started low-stress training out her branches and have started thinning out her canopy to provide more direct light to the secondary branches I want to grow out. She is currently being fed once a day at 1.2 litres with some run off, though I had to provide her an additional litre about 2 days ago to reach field capacity in order to achieve regular run-off. Given the size of her pot, I'm thinking of letting her fill out my 2 by 4 tent on her own. When her run-off EC starts dropping, I will increase fertigation frequency or nutrient strength - I haven't decided yet and will judge based on plant growth. Until next week, cheers growmies!

Hi weed fam! This week has seen a pretty large amount of growth, requiring systematic defoliation at the canopy to allow secondary branches to reach up and become even with the main branches. Today, roots have hit the bottom of the fabric pot and are starting to air prune them selves. Her original salt build-up issues are showing as indicated by the lighter green on the leaf margins. New growth is significantly healthier. The exciting news this week is that I've set up my own automatic irrigation. This girl will be getting 12 small volume fertigations a day whilst I implement a vegetative crop steering watering schedule. She's currently getting about 3 litres of nutrient over a 12 hour period, with a following dry back period of 12 hours. Fertigations start 2 hours into lights on where her metabolism will be running at full capacity and cease 6 hours before lights off. The Lemon Skunk, even though I said I wouldn't report on her anymore, has started recovering. I attribute her early issues due to excessive use of Organabud (kelp additive) whilst she was too young. My fault and own inexperience. She is on a completely different water schedule whilst her normal growth starts to take form. That' it for this week, cheers family!👽😹
