Sensi Seeds Early Skunk Fem - Indoors.

Objective: Grow a 500g crop from a single plant using longer veg and advanced growing techniques, mostly topping, and super cropping. The main idea here is to keep things as simple as possible, keep costs and maintenance to a minimum. I don't bother with pH meters, EC measurements, or any of the supplements grow shops sell. For soil growers they are a waste of time and money. Seed: Early Skunk by Sensi Seeds. https://sensiseeds.com/en/feminized-seeds/sensi-seeds/early-skunk-feminised (free) Medium: Soil, the cheapest I could find in my garden supply store. 150L for 10 euros Lights: The cheapest LED 'Mars' type clone I could find on Amazon, sold as "400w", the real wattage is 150W, I got 6 of those plus 2x100W white cob LEDs. The 150W ones are 100cm from the plant top. The white ones are mainly there so I can see what I'm doing, they are on the ceiling. Total illumination: 1000w REAL watts. 6 x Chinese LEDs = 500 euros 2 x White LEDs = 150 euros Grow space: My tool shed. it's a 2m wide x 4m long x 2.6m high. Well insulated and dark. Nutrients: The cheapest fertilizer from my garden supply store. N6 - P2 -K5, recommended concentration: 7ml/ liter 1 liter = 1.5 euros Pot: 35 liters, about 70% full. 5 euros Air circulation: 30cm oscillating fan, with CO2 supplementation. I have no neighbors so no odor control is necessary. Fan = 8 euros 5 kg CO2 tank +regulator: 150 euros, +60 euros for every refill. Total cost of setup: 825 euros. Day 0: I germinated the seed in wet paper towels, room temp is 20c. In retrospect it probably would have been much faster if I put it in water for 24 hours and put it somewhere warm. Day 1: Seed is starting to crack open. Day 2: Root begins to emerge. Day 3: Moved towel to +30 degrees incubator. Day 4: The Root is growing much faster. Day 5: The Root is about 1.5cm long, the seed was planted in a 35L pot. The temperature is 22c-26c, humidity 30%-40%, light cycle 19/5. Only one 150w LEDs + white LEDs are working at this point. The plant was watered with 500ml tap water. Day 6: The seedling broke the surface. Day 7: The seedling is 2-3cm tall, and first set of true leaves is developing. The plant was watered with 500ml tap water.

Day 8: All is well (AIW). Plant was watered with 500ml tap water. Day 9: AIW Plant was misted with water. Day 10: AIW Plant was watered with 500ml tap water. A second 150w LED is now on, making it 2 in total (300w). Day 11: AIW Plant was misted with water Day 12: AIW 2nd node starting. Plant was watered with 500ml tap water. Day 13: AIW Plant was misted with water. Day 14: First feed: 3ml fertilizer + 1 liter of water. The seedling was knocked over from the force of the water. It was replanted. The plant is now 5cm tall. Temperature in the room is 22c-28c, Humidity 30%-50%.

Day 15: AIW Day 16: AIW Plant was misted with water. Day 17: AIW Plant was watered with 750ml tap water. Day 18: AIW Started to supplement CO2, no PPM meter, just short squirts several times a day. Day 19: AIW Plant was watered and fed with 3ml fertilizer + 1ml Cal Mag in 1 liter tap water. Light cycle was change to 20/4. Day 20: AIW Day 21: AIW Plant was topped for the first time between the 5th and 4th nodes. The lighting was raised 10cm. The plant was watered and fed with 3ml fertilizer + 1ml Cal Mag in 1 liter tap water. The light cycle was changed to 24/0 The plant is now 12cm tall.

Day 22: AIW The plant starts to release a very nice odor. Day 23: A secondary topping was made to the 2 shoots coming off the 3rd node. The plant was watered and fed with 3ml fertilizer + 1ml Cal Mag in 1 liter tap water. Day 24: The mature leaves start to show some yellowing. Wondering if there's some deficiency...? The light was raised 5cm. Day 25 The plant was watered and fed with 7ml fertilizer + 1ml Cal Mag in 1 liter tap water. 2 Secondary shoots were topped. Lower fan leaves were trimmed. Day 26: I decided to feed more often, but with lower concentrations. The plant was watered and fed with 3ml fertilizer + 1ml Cal Mag in 1 liter tap water. The 2 main shoots were topped once more. The plants grows about 2cm/day. Day 27: AIW Day 28: AIW The plant was watered with 1 liter tap water. 2 more 150W LEDs are now in use, for a total of REAL 600w. The temperature with lights on reaches 30c The plant is now 22cm tall.

Day 29: AIW Another round of topping was done, in 4 shoots. Increased CO2 supplementation. Misted with water. The plant was watered and fed with 7ml fertilizer + 1ml Cal Mag in 1.5 liter tap water. The temperature with 600w real watts + 200w ceiling lamps reaches 33c. Day 30: AIW Day 31: Started doing some super-cropping to the tallest shoots. One of them was broken in the attempt and fixed with tape. Several hours later, the branches are already turning up. The temperature reaches 35c. Will buy an exhaust fan to improve circulation and reduce temps. Day 32: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 7ml fertilizer + 1ml Cal Mag in 1.5 liter tap water. Day 33: AIW Misted with water. Day 34: AIW Another round of topping was done in 7 more places, and lower fan leaves removed. The plant was watered and fed with 7ml fertilizer + 1ml Cal Mag in 1.5 liter tap water. Day 35: AIW The plant was watered with 1.5 liter tap water. So far there have been 5 rounds of topping, with overall 18 cuts. The plant is really branching out into a bush. No further toppings will be necessary, will continue with super cropping. Due to topping and super cropping, the plant is now only 28cm tall.

Day 36: AIW Lights were raised again to be 100cm above the plant's top. Many bottom fan leaves were trimmed and removed. The plant was watered and fed with 5ml fertilizer + 1ml Cal Mag in 1.5 liter tap water. All the highest branches were aggressively super-cropped outwards. Day 37: AIW Plant misted with water. Another 150W real watts of LEDs added today, making it a total of 750W real watts of mars clones + 200W white COB LEDs. The temperature reached 42c(!!!) today. In response, CO2 supplementation was increased. The plant seem to be perfectly fine, despite growing in 33-42 degrees Celsius for over a week. Still, air circulation improvements are necessary before flowering. Day 38: AIW The plant was watered with 2 liters tap water. Day 39: AIW Plant misted with water. Day 40: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer + 2ml Cal Mag in 2 liter tap water. Day 41: AIW More fan leaves removed. Day 42: The plant was watered with 500ml tap water The lights were raised once more. The plant is now 35cm tall. It seems the plant doesn't mind the high temps at all, at least for the vegetative phase. There is some yellowing tips on mature leaves, possible nutrient burn, will increase watering and reduce feed concentrations. Super-cropping seem to working, the smaller shoots are catching up with the main growth and the canopy is getting even all over the plant. I wish I had a possibility to use SCROG at this point, however, I'm not able to fit a screen over the plant with the current setup.

Day 43: AIW The plant was watered with 2 liter tap water. Slightly rearranged the location of the lights in respect to the plant to accommodate new plants. Trimmed lower fan leaves. Day 44: Due to high temperatures the soil dries very quickly. The plant was watered with 1.5 liter tap water. Still some possible nutrient burn on new growth, will reduce feeding once more. Day 45: AIW Aggressive super-cropping done to the tallest shoots. Pistils starting to show. Plant misted with water. Day 46: AIW An extraction blower was added to the room to improve circulation and manage the temps. The blower is programmed to work when the CO2 supplementation is off. The temperatures cooled down from 40-42 to 30-33 degrees Celsius. I'm happy with the result. The plant was watered and fed with 5ml fertilizer + 1ml Cal Mag in 1.5 liter tap water. Day 47: One of the shoots super-cropped on Day 45 got broken and detached from the stem, will try to be more careful next time. It was removed together with some lower fan leaves. Plant misted with water. Day 48: AIW The plant was watered with 2 liter tap water. Day 49: AIW Removed some more lower fan leaves. Plant misted with water. The plant is now 45cm tall despite repeated super-cropping. There are numerous shoots growing in a very thick and uniform canopy. I was aiming at 10-week veg, let's see how it goes!

Day 50: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 3ml fertilizer + 1.5ml Cal Mag in 3 liter tap water. Removed some more lower fan leaves. Broken another shoot with my overly aggressive super-cropping, but there are dozen others under it, waiting to grow and fill up the space. The lights were raised 10 cm. Day 51: AIW Plant misted with water. Another 150W real watts of LEDs added today, making it a total of 900W REAL watts of mars clones (1m from the canopy) + 200W white COB LEDs (on the ceiling) Day 52: AIW The plant was watered with 2 liter tap water. Day 53: AIW Another aggressive super-cropping session, this time I didn't even break any shoots! :) Day 54: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer + 2ml Cal Mag in 3 liter tap water. Removed some more lower fan leaves. Day 55: AIW Plant misted with water. Day 56: AIW Some more super-cropping The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water. The soil is getting dry very quickly and the plant is now a huge bush. The scale in the picture is a bit misleading because the plant is sitting in a huge pot (35L, it's 40cm x 40cm x 40cm at the top). It is over 55cm tall, and about 75cm wide. I will start watering every day and with larger amounts. The temps seem to be under control 26 - 33 Celsius. Still 2 weeks to go before flip to 12/12.

Day 57: AIW The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water. Day 58: AIW The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water. Day 59: AIW The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water. Many low fan leaves were removed. One of the super-cropped shoots was ripped off due to my carelessness, it was planted and hopefully will root as a clone. Day 60: AIW The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water, it seems it's perfectly fine with the extra watering. Day 61: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 8ml fertilizer + 4ml Cal Mag in 4 liter tap water. Day 62: AIW Last super-cropping session today. Day 63: Today I will flip the plant to 12/12. I was initially planning to veg for 10 weeks, but I decided to flip now instead for several reasons: 1. There are other plants in the room that need to be flipped (I don't have separate spaces for veg and flower, but I'm working on it!) 2. I think there will be very little added value to additional veg time, the plant is already quite tall and bushy AF. I believe I have a chance of getting my desired yield from this veg time. 3. I don't know how much this plant will stretch, since it's a hybrid, so I have to take some safety margin. Again for scale, the width of the grow space is 1.10 meters (approx 4 ft.) and the plant is filling it up, so it's 1.1m wide, and 60cm tall (after 5-10cm super-cropping,) The plant pot is 40cm X 40cm X 40 cm.

Day 64: AIW The plant was watered with 1.5 liter tap water. Day 65: AIW The plant was watered with 1.5 liter tap water. Day 66: AIW The plant was watered with 1.5 liter tap water. Day 67: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 4ml fertilizer + 2ml Cal Mag in 2 liter tap water. Day 68: AIW The plant starts to show its sex, it is indeed a beautiful lady, and she is stretching away. Day 69: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 4ml fertilizer + 2ml Cal Mag in 2 liter tap water. Day 70: AIW The plant is now 75cm tall, it's huge, branched, green and bushy, it is actually pressing against the walls of the grow room. I am going to take clones from it next week, so I don't prune/lollipop/defoliate. Overall not a very eventful week in terms of growing, but that's just the way it should be: Give the plant what it needs, and leave it alone to do its thing. PS: I don't have pictures from days 68-70 because I couldn't make it home in time before the lights went off, and I will never disturb my plants when it's dark time. They need complete and total darkness. I even took my humidifier apart and cut the LED light that lights up when it is turned 'on', just to be on the safe side.

Day 71: The plant looks to be underwatered. Due to its size and the transpiration rate I will water daily from now on. The plant was watered and fed with 4.5ml fertilizer + 2ml Cal Mag in 3 liter tap water. Day 72: AIW The plant was watered with 2 liter tap water. Day 73: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer + 3ml Cal Mag in 3 liter tap water. Day 74: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 2ml fertilizer + 1ml Cal Mag in 2 liter tap water. Some shoots are growing way too fast. I saw mixed opinions about super-cropping during flower, but I decided to do it anyway. I aggressively super-cropped all the tall shoots to the level of the lowest shoots to let them catch up, and to grow lateral buds from the shoot. The Co2 amounts were also increased to 1.5% of normal air by volume. The plant is now 20 cm shorter due to the super-cropping. Day 75: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 2ml fertilizer + 1ml Cal Mag in 2 liter tap water. Day 76: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 2ml fertilizer + 1ml Cal Mag in 2 liter tap water. Day 77: I see some stalks turning purple which might indicate a magnesium deficiency, I will add calmag to normal watering for a while to see if it improves. The plant was watered with 2ml Cal Mag in 2 liter tap water. Many lower fan leaves removed. 8 lower shoots were cut to make clones. They will be re-vegged hopefully to become monster-cropped plants to be used in the next grow. The CO2 ran out, and the tank will have to be refilled. Very happy with how the plant is looking and smelling!

Day 78: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 9ml fertilizer + 9ml Cal Mag in 3 liter tap water. 10 cuttings were cut as clones from lower branches. Day 79: AIW The plant was watered with 2ml Cal Mag in 2 liter tap water. 10 cuttings were cut as clones from lower branches. Day 80: AIW The plant was watered with 2ml Cal Mag in 2 liter tap water. Some lower fan leaves removed. Day 81: AIW The plant was watered with 2ml Cal Mag in 2 liter tap water. Day 82: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer + 6ml Cal Mag in 3 liter tap water. Day 83: AIW The plant was watered with 2ml Cal Mag in 2 liter tap water. Day 84: AIW The plant was watered with 2 liter tap water. Overall the plant is doing great, the smell starts to be very strong, and it keeps growing taller. I will see in the following week if there's more purpling of the stems to see if the extra magnesium this week changed anything. The plant is now 65cm tall and 110cm wide and drinks 2-3 liters a day.

Day 85: AIW The plant was watered with 2 liter tap water. Day 86: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer + 6ml Cal Mag in 2 liter tap water. Day 87: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 2ml fertilizer + 2ml Cal Mag in 2 liter tap water. The top shoots were super-cropped again to equalize the canopy, reducing the height again by ~15cm Day 88: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 2ml fertilizer + 2ml Cal Mag in 2 liter tap water. 8 of the lower branches were cut and taken to root as clones. Day 89: AIW The plant was watered with 2 liter tap water. Some lower fan leaves and lower branches were removed. Day 90: AIW The plant was watered with 2.5 liter tap water. Day 91: AIW The plant was watered with 2.5 liter tap water. It is 80cm tall after super-cropping. I have taken around 30 clones from it so far. The reason I'm taking so many is because I'm not that good with it, and I get about 1/3 of them to root properly. I'm also going to use some of the clones for reversal with colloidal silver to produce pollen for feminized seeds production and breeding my own hybrids.

Day 92: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 5ml fertilizer + 3ml Cal Mag in 2.5 liter tap water. Day 93: AIW The plant was watered with 2.5 liter tap water. Day 94: AIW The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water. Days 95-98: I had to be away for few days. I left a drip system with a rate of 2-3 liters per 24h. When I came back the plant looked good and perfectly fine.

Day 99: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 5ml fertilizer + 5ml Cal Mag in 3 liter tap water. Some lower fan leaves were removed. Day 100: AIW The plant was watered with 5ml Cal Mag in 3 liter tap water. Day 101: AIW The plant was watered 3 liter tap water. Day 102: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 5ml fertilizer + 5ml Cal Mag in 3 liter tap water. Day 103: AIW The plant was watered 3 liter tap water. Day 104: AIW The plant was watered 3 liter tap water. Day 105: I decided to try a new fertilizer I got for extremely cheap, it has extra poatssium sulfate (K2SO4) which helps resin and trichomes production. The fertilizer is N11-P11-K22-Mg2.3-S5.6. I start testing it at 0.02% strength and see how it goes. Dissolved 10g of powder in 100ml (10% solution), and then added 2ml/liter for final concentration of 0.02%) It might contain too much nitrogen for the late flower stage, but we will see what happens. I paid 7 euros for 3 kg of powder, which is enough to make 15,000 liters of 0.02% nutrient solution - still feel like spending money on liquid nutrients? :) The plant looks good, the buds start to thicken and swell. It barely grows vertically anymore. Can't wait to cut this lady off! :)

Day 106: AIW The plant was watered and fed with 3ml fertilizer (0.01%) + in 3 liter tap water. Day 107: AIW The plant was watered with 2.5 liter tap water. Day 108: The plant was watered with 3.0 liter tap water. Some yellowing evident on some leaves. Possible Magnesium or Potassium deficiency - will supplement. Day 109: The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer (0.02%) + in 3 liter tap water. Day 110: No change. Soil was moist, no need to water. Day 111: The plant was watered with 3.0 liter tap water. A little of nutrient burn, not too important. Day 112: The plant was watered with 3.0 liter tap water. Some deficiencies and burns this week, will try to remedy, but no big disasters. The buds are getting really heavy and swollen, the smell is very strong. 2-3 weeks to go.

Day 113: The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer (0.02%) in 3 liter tap water. Day 114: The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water. 3 x 130w (true watts) of LED Mars clones lights were added (got them for free). The total lighting above the canopy is ~1200 true watts + 200w up on the ceiling. Day 115: The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer (0.02%) in 3 liter tap water. Day 116: Started to supplement with K2SO4 (0.02%) and 1ml/liter Vitalink CalMag. Day 117: The timer broke and fan stopped working during the day which led to temperatures of 38 Celsius. The new 3 lights were shut down until I got a new timer the following day. The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer (0.02%) + K2SO4 (0.02%) and 1ml/liter Vitalink CalMag in 3 liter tap water. Day 118: The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water + 1ml/l Vitalink CalMag. Day 119: The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer (0.02%) + K2SO4 (0.02%) and 1ml/liter Vitalink CalMag in 3 liter tap water. The plant starts to yellow nicely, as expected in final weeks of flowering, some minor nuteburn. The flowering time listed by Sensi is 9 weeks, which means the real flowering time is 10-11. Under the micrscope the trichomes are 30% cloudy, 70% clear. Still a way to go.

Day 120: The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer (0.02%) + K2SO4 (0.02%) and 1ml/liter Vitalink CalMag in 3 liter tap water. Day 121: The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water. Went a little too heavy on the feed, a common mistake, the soil will be flushed tomorrow just in case. Day 122: The soil was flushed with 30 liters of water. Day 123: The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer (0.02%) + K2SO4 (0.02%) and 1ml/liter Vitalink CalMag in 3 liter tap water. Day 124: The soil is moist, no watering needed. Day 125: The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water. Day 126: The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water. The plant seems to be responding well to the flush. 2 weeks until the chop.

Day 127: The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water. Day 128: The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer (0.02%) + K2SO4 (0.02%) and 1ml/liter Vitalink CalMag in 3 liter tap water. Day 129: The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water. Day 130: The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer (0.02%) + K2SO4 (0.02%) and 1ml/liter Vitalink CalMag in 3 liter tap water. The trichomes on the top buds are 80% cloudy, 20% clear. Day 131: The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water. Day 132: The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water. Day 133: The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer (0.02%) + K2SO4 (0.02%) and 1ml/liter Vitalink CalMag in 3 liter tap water. We're almost there. The plant seems ready.

Day 134: The plant was watered with 3 liter tap water. Day 135: The plant was watered and fed with 6ml fertilizer (0.02%) + K2SO4 (0.02%) and 1ml/liter Vitalink CalMag in 3 liter tap water. Day 136: The trichomes are ~90% cloudy. Tomorrow I chop her down! Day 137: IT'S CHOPPING TIME!!! Massive top buds, 12 the size of a 1.5l coke bottle. ~10 more the size of 0.5 coke bottle. Lots of smaller buds I simply didn't have energy to trim so I just threw with the trim to make QWET extraction from. I took a small sample and the thing is fire, super happy! I spent about 10 hours trimming before I decided to make extracts from the smaller buds. As I was chopping I discovered a couple of premature bananas growing on one of the buds, probably because of the heat issues I've had and long time I waited, but thankfully no harm done. After 4 days of air drying and 14 days curing in jar to 55% RH the final weight is 427g dried bud, 245g of trim and small buds. A little disappointed I didn't hit the 500g mark I set myself, but without SCROG I think it's still ok.

Super easy to grow, I topped, and bent the hell of this plant, grew it in 30-35 degrees Celsius, and it took it all without complaints. This grow is a good example to what you can do with good strains. Even the lights are shit, the nutrients are cheap powder nutrients, and the grower is not very bright :P - just give the plant what it needs and leave it alone, and it will grow beautifully.
