Still a novice grower, this is my 4th grow in an expanded brand new grow space. I'm upgrading from a 2x4x60 vivosun tent to a 4x8x80 coolgrows tent. I've been satisfied with just about everything but yield from my past grows, so hoping that proper defoliation and the taller lights will bring me success. For this tent, I'm growing 8 seeds. Don't ask why. It did not dawn on me when I bought this tent (if you can't tell I struggle to think things through), that I would have to grow all the plants on the same light schedule. So I have 4 (3?) Autos and 4(5?) photoperiods. The unsureness is because of the Lemon seed I have from Seedsman. On my receipt order, its Lemon Auto. On the seed case, it says Lemon. So *shrugs*. It's probably a regular fem seed but for now we go by the receipt (Edit: Went back and checked, apparently it does say auto on the case lol) For this 8 plant adventure I have 75% of all the lights I've bought since I started journey. The Mars Hydro FCE-3000 is my newest purchase, very excited to test this one out in this new tent, and along side it is my HLG 300, and inbetween I have my first light, the HLG 100, that I'll switch on during late veg/flower. Starting at the lowest dim setting and will raise very slowly through veg Why am I growing autos and Photos in the same tent? Because I have no sense. I am planning on hopefully getting the autos as much time on 18/6 as I can before I flip the photos to 12/12. Not really concerned about the possible yield impact, so YOLO. Until I set up my second tent I'll be growing autos and photos together because I would like to not wait half a year to get some new damn weed. I hope this will work out as when I cut down the autos I will be able to give the photos more canopy space. Idk Idk, we'll see. No nutes this week, but will start with a light mix next week. I only do GH Trio + CalMag, and I generally do the same mixture most of the grow, at the same ratio but increasing amount as it develops during veg. I cut out FloraGro in the last 1/3 of Flower. I do this because it balances the PH, and with 8 individual DWC buckets, I'm trying to keep my ph maintenance as low as possible. Although I just moved so I'll have to see how this tap water here works as the weeks go by. I thought about doing RDWC, but its a lot of DIY work and I wanted to see how bad 8 solo buckets could be. Like I mentioned earlier, I've been satisfied with quality of my buds from my past grows, but looking to really increase yields in this massive tent. So wish me luck. Only one picture cause its just germination but will start cataloguing each baby plant next week. Seeds went in the bucket after 4 days of paper towel germination

So update from germination week. I grew antsy on my Sour Diesel and Strawberry Cheesecake, as I did not see any progress after transplanting them to the rapid rooter. I trashed them both and started over, but since it was my last Sour Diesel seed, I had to replace it with some Maui Wowie seeds from Original Kush Seeds. I grew Maui Wowie on my most recent grow, and already loving the results, so I decided to just do an encore and replace the SD with it. Another caveat to this is I mistakenly forgot to label the containers I was holding the paper towels, so I dont actually know which of the two seeds are Maui Wowie vs the Cheesecake auto. I might be able to use some early leaf patterns to make this determination, as I plan on topping all of the healthy plants as I can (the autos just once and the photos twice at least). I will probably refill the buckets mid week, want the plant to be a bit more mature before I introduce nutes. Otherwise not much to else to report. I've always had generally slow starts, so heres hoping we can get couple of more nodes and some size this week. Some plants are already at the very beginning of their third pair of leaves.

Week 2, a bit of a late update here. As of 9/21 we're at about 16 days. I've already started adding nutes. Everybody's healthy so far. You can kind of tell who are early spurts. Still not sure which of the mystery seeds is which but i'm hoping to tell by leaf pattern next week. I imagine the bigger one is likely the auto. Planning on doing side by sides each week so you can easily tell the progress. I do want to top these autos so I know I probably have about two more weeks of window. I feel pretty confident with the Greenpoison XL, but we'll see with the others.

So, week 3 for most of these, and they're still pretty small. I had a thought that since I was using a new, bigger grow tent, and a new light entirely that I might be conservatively underexposing my plants to light. Previously they were about 4 feet away from the canopy and I changed them last night down to 2 feet and turned up the intensity to about 80% (this is what the manufacturers suggest). Almost 24 hours, and it seems like they are taking very well to the extra light. Hopefully will make a bunch of ground this week, as some of them are still super tiny for their age. Not worried, I dont feel like this is unusual for me and once they really start taking off they'll take off.

I try to get this updated every sunday, but I've been sick over the weekend and am only now finding the time and energy to do so (the photos however still are taken on the 7-day mark) So, I think I mentioned in the previous week's comment that I was concerned that I was under exposing my light. I definitely was. I should have figured growing in this tent was going to need some getting used to (remember I went from a 2x4x60 to a 4x8x80). Almost overnight I saw the extra light intensity make the girls take off into what you see now. Its so remarkable, that if you look at my 21-day-old mystery seeds they basically look the same as the 28-day-old sisters of theirs. On one hand, better sooner than later, but a bit disappointed I probably squandered about a week to a week and a half of significant growth. This doesn't matter much for the photoperiods cause I can just keep them in veg until I need to, but for my 3 (known) autos, I'm sure its gonna hurt me on my yields. C'est la vie. We'll know next time. Despite all this, I was a mad man and topped the Green Poison XL (and the CBD) cause I wanted to experiment topping an auto and its still clearly the most mature & healthy plant of the bunch. They're all doing healthy actually. I did find some discoloration on a lower leaf of my CBD. You might be able to tell that in the photos. Which I am not sure if thats caused from heat stress or nutrient deficiency. My central A/C makes the grow room tent +/-3*F depending on where I have it (sleeping vs during the day), and I had some atypical usage of it this weekend because I going from sweating to freezing at the drop of a hat. But they're all still super healthy, leaves dark green as can be. I'm gonna be honest too, I haven't changed out the reservoir in at least two weeks. They weren't drinking as much as I wanted week 2->3 and I felt it a waste to dump out perfectly fine water. The roots are now significantly developed and they're doing maybe a half or a third of a gallon a day now. I'll get to it this week, but I'm not gonna lie, their performance is provoking me to slack off. I imagine its because I use the GH trio evenly early on in the mixture (to balance ph). The plants only drink certain nutrients anyway and I imagine the nute mix has mitigated a nutrient imbalance that they might've found by now if I had just use a typical micro+gro mix Also, you'll notice in the photos that the most recent weeks are over exposed. You can see the difference in the intensity of the lights between my changes just through the exposure. Good thing I got that taken care of, but I'll be sure to take adjust the lights next time I take pics : )
