Finally I get to start Amnesia Auto, which I kept forgetting about. This is a paid Seedsman seed as opposed to my other two freebie grows I have no idea what to expect as all their seeds are so unpredictable there does not appear to be a company house style. Put the dry bean in an eazyplug on Monday and she was ready on Friday which I count as day zero, so all the my three grows are 5 weeks apart. Bean always goes pointy end down.
Nothing much happening, pretty ordinary looking after two weeks, she seems a little pale but otherwise she is thickening up down below. Expecting her to reveal herself by the end of next week.
Fairly straightforward week upped the nutes to full strength, and I decided to do another bendover rather than a topping, seeing as my Lemon Pie went pretty well. I took one off the first pair of branches off as it would require too much energy for the branch to work it's way around, I do this with any down pointing branches. A few copper spots on a couple of the lower leaves indicates absolutely nothing at all. Perfectly normal, not sure what causes it.
Turns out she is going to be open and bendy, similar to the BigBud X N.L, in my other grow, but not as vigourous. This means there is not much to do, removed a few leaves and pulled her down a bit, otherwise I'm just trying to deal with getting the other grow finished. I have no idea whatsoever how this one will turn out, she's certainly very spindly. Although there's some preflowers I'm going to call next week the first flowering week.
I had an attack of the killer bugs, they were everywhere, so I was hoping to just get through. I have while plastic on the floor and I had to vacuum them up every day. I tried to give it a soak in water the batch and H2O2. I brought it into the light and gave it a big trim. Looked a bit ratty, however she went on to be OK in the end.
When I finally got to see the roots, I was very surprised to see that while they didn't get on the plant, they completely terrorised the roots, there was basically just a few strands of rotting roots. This shows the fantastic resilience of my Shallow Water Culture method, that has two sets of roots, both inside the pot and outside the pot, it worked so well that you can't even tell there's anything wrong by looking at the very juicy heads. Ended up with 13 oz. The heads were loose but very resiny.
Considering this plant was severely attacked by what I now know are root aphids, she did pretty well. A surprisingly decent yield to at 7 zips, a bit loose but very resinous and a mild pine flavour.
The photo above has some purple haze mixed in! Yeah looking back at the root aphid infestation and how I treated the plant I was very pleasantly surprised to get 7 zips of resin weed, if a little straggly looking, but it's only for personal use so it doesn't have to look pretty.
@Absurd, well spotted, yes I saw a stray pistil on day 12! The earliest I've had so far is 4 weeks from a Blackberry, I'm hoping that she's not flipping yet hopefully just the way she curls or something. It's fairly unusual for me to get anything flipping before 5 weeks, but they do mature quicker in soil from what I've seen.
Hey! Happy growing my friend! I hope you do well and get some good results! I will come by sometime to see your progress! Keep on growing!
