Early veg. We have custom royal blue LED fixture for height control and root development. I am going for vertical growth and not training the plant. Only defoliation and after getting some height, we'll start training.
This week, I stripped everything except the crown. I am still going for the vertical growth before topping. Thick main stem makes fat colas so I want my plant as tall and as thick as can be. Btw. we have a thrips infestation. I'll share my methods to get rid of them.
Thrips problem is going on. I sprayed some castille soap. This mix kills the thrips but doesn't eliminate the problem from its root. I'm keeping an eye on my plants and they seem to give zero fucks about thrips. I'm constantly fighting them and next week I'll solve this thrip infestation completely. Just watch 💪
I got rid of the thrips with spinosad. That is a natural insecticide that is derived from the bacteria from soil. Totally natural and harmless to bees and pets. My go to pesticide. We got some clones vegging along and I believe the coco from the hydro store isn't that sterile cuz we got fungus gnats now. Problem started after planting these clones into a fresh bag of coco mix. Too bad...
This week plant is starting to fill the SCROG. I'll leave this plant alone in the tent so she can bloom with the full potential. I'll add 240W quantum boards alongside with LEDWisdom 200W. This will be the bloom setup.
This has been an amazing week. The fungus gnat problem and the thrips problem is completely gone. Now we got another species in the medium. This little bug is called hypoaspis miles which is a fungus gnat predator. They feed on the fungus gnat larvae, and I absolutely have no idea how they thrived down there. Anyways these babies are harmless to plants and they keep the fungus gnat larvae population at minimum so I can water my plants plenty without having a gnat problem. What a BLESSING!!
Blue Gelato 41 is growing like a motherfucker. Definitely ready for bloom. Got the center of the tips yellowed and that is the sign for bloom. I'll flip the lights next week and start the transition week. Plant is healthy as fuck. Cheers folks.
This is the end of the first week of bloom. This plant was already craving for the bloom and the results are impressive for the first week. This plant will yield like crazy. Very happy with the 200W LED's. 240W quantum boards are also doing well but the buds under the 200W LEDWisdom is noticeably bigger. Cheers.
Still training and defoliating my plant. Buds are forming pretty fast and I'm watering the plant with plenty of water. She can take huge amounts and transform the nutrients into huge colas. Hopefully :)
These weeks are very comfy. We have a very healthy plant. She is budding like crazy. Lights are performing great and the nutrient combination is working perfect, as we can't see any deficiencies almost from the start.
No hard tasks to perform, no complicated calculations for the rest of the grow. Just mix the nutrients, water the plants, sit back and relax. Smell is getting there. Expectations are very high. Still defoliating, still not loving the police 💪
Nothing is going in the wrong direction. Colas getting bigger and bigger each day. Can't wait for the harvest. We still got at least three more weeks until chopping down this tree.
Colas are getting bigger and filling up nicely. We are on the last weeks of the bloom period guys. Harvest will be a little more than I expect. I'm very happy with this grow and I'll fill my stash tight. Cheers.
Colas are out of control guys. If they keep expanding I can't imagine how big they will look next week. If they keep expanding I'll keep blooming them. No need for an early harvest. Cheers.
Buds still gaining too much weight. Some big ones start to drop on top of each other. I think next week will be the last week of bloom. The buds are pretty heavy now. Even the lower canopy produced pretty dense and big buds. Amazing harvest ahead.
Last week of the grow. Blue Gelato 41 was an amazing ride. I'll share the harvest data next week. I'm sure we'll all be amazed by the numbers. See you then 👋
It was a great ride and I can't be more happy with the results. I struggled some pest infestations and had a lot of problems but managed to solve them all by acting very quick and staying on top of the problem all the time. Pretty much stuff to learn here folks. I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I do. Cheers.
