A day after putting the tap root and sees in to the rockwool the top of the sprout was just breaking the surface.
The rockwool was moved to a foot or so under standard CFLs.
After another couple of days the light was lowered to about an inch or two above the seedling.
Still under the CFL. Growing well.
Soaked the rockwool once as it was getting dry.
The small rounded initial leaves are yellowing and so the seedling will need some nutrients soon.
Will transfer to the DWC for that.
Moved in to the DWC. Lights are couple of feet away until it gets use to them. Nutrients brought up to around 300ppm.
The gelato is growing slow. Smaller roots right now.
The small beginner leaves have yellowed and I think it's ready to grow.
The Gelato has been growing slowly but steadily. The roots have really grown in the last week so I think the leaves will start to take off now.
Nutrients have been increased and the leaves look good.
Gelato is coming along well. It has a little deficiency in the lower fan leaves but it seems to be going well now.
It's a little smaller than I would expect at this point but I think it's turning out okay.
I'll probably top it this week.
Gelato is growing really well and recovered very fast from its topping.
I put it in a SCROG and weaved the longer branches to expose the bud grow sites to a more level canopy.
By tomorrow it will have bounced back and be growing "up" all over.
I took a couple of branches with a few nodes from under the screen to clone. I'll STS one for pollen and flower the other and pollenate it to make Feminized Gelato seeds.
It will need a little clearing out under the screen.
The canopy has been weaved through the SCROG and it's fairly level. The stretch is happening and it's really growing.
I cleared out alot of the growth under the SCROG and took some nodes for cloning.
I'm going to have to watch the hunidity and airflow on this as the buds start growing to avoid bud rot.
I don't like defoliating but it might be necessary if it keeps filling in with so many fan leaves.
I really like this Gelato plant. There's lots of stems growing up from the SCROG net. A really good leaf to bud ratio is starting. The fan leaves are reasonably sized, not giant and stopping all the light at the canopy.
So far a great grow. Looking forward to watching how the buds grow. They're starting to form.
The Gelato is growing well. It's a great plant with mod sized fan leaves and lots of branches up from the SCROG.
I did a little trimming of some fan leaves on top to help air flow but mostly it takes care of itself.
Buds are forming well. I think stretch is done now.
There are a couple of taller branches. One especially I will mildly supercrop to get it away from the lights, on level with the canopy.
The plant is guzzling water and nutrients.
It has a good leaf structure, not too big which lets air flow.
This plant is growing really well. Buds are forming everywhere. It's been resistant to the powdery mildew that is affecting other plants in the area.
I have pruned some leaves for airflow but it's doing so well I don't want to mess with it too much.
I've pollenated some lower branches for seeds with SLH, OG Kush pollen to seed what I can get.
Gelato is fattening up buds. They're really white and fluffy at the moment.
Plant has been very resistant to powdery mildew.
Going through lots of water and nutrients at this stage of the RDWC.
Gelato is growing really well. Has stayed resistant to the powdery mildew which was a problem with another plant.
Big white haired, thick buds growing.
I think this one's going to be have some massive flower if it keeps on bulking up.
Gelato buds have changed from white hairs to red and brown this week.
Probably a couple of weeks more to go.
Buds are big and bulky. Had a little bud rot on one and so cut it out.
Gelato is doing great. Massive thick buds on a few branches.
I had to bend the tallest branch as it was foxtailing.
It's ready to harvest at any time but I'm giving it another few days.
This has been a great plant and resistant to the powdery mildew that plagues the other plant in the tent.
This Gelato was a bright spot in an otherwise powdery mildew fight with other plants.
For whatever reason this strain showed almost no PM while others in the tent were coated.
The yield was a lot more than the other strains on this run. The one bud was like my forearm and is probably the biggest cola I've ever grown.
It has a nice look with big solid buds. If this smokes as good as it looks it'll be a real prize.
Unfortunately none of my clones took from it, but I do have a few seeds left from the same pack.
