Growing really well. Transplanted the peat pellet in to a Solo Cup.
The soil is Pro Mix with some Perlite and Dolomite mixed in.
Watered with just a little nutrients and Cal-Mag
I had a minor catastrophe. One of the mounts to my CFL slipped and the bulb was against the leaf for a brief time. It burnt a couple of leaves. Luckily I noticed and fixed it before there was too much damage. It should recover from it all right.
Moved in to the tent. Growing about average speed.
The old burnt leaves are still there but growing fine around it.
Watered with nutrients (about 300ppm)
Transplanted Jack to a 4 gallon grow bag. It's a ProMix and perlite mix.
There are some brown patches on the lower leaves. Likely some nutrient deficiency when it was in the Solo cup. (The crinkled leaf is from a light burn when it was a seedling)
I expect it to be a big growing week for this one.
Jack Herer is coming along well. It's looking string with no nutrient problems.
It's going a little slower than usual but it seems to be doing good at its own pace.
I might top next week or might leave it and do a little LST.
Jack is growing slow. It still shows some deficiency on the lower fan leaves but new growth looks good.
I mostly RDWC so the Pro Mix is a little new for me. I have been feeding the plant with a similar PPM of nutrients as I do with RDWC. I soak the soil when it dries out, about every few days right now.
I bent the main stem for LST. I want to control the height if it takes off in flower stretch and also to expose more bud sites on an even canopy.
I'll switch to flower lighting later this week.
Looks like calcium to me. Possibly potassium but that usually wont show until flowering. Hard to tell with the current state. But week 4 shows the start of the issue a lot better
The Jack Herer has been really slow growing. I have two other strains in DWC on the same schedule and they are about 4 times the size.
It could be that I'm not as used to growing in Promix as the DWC or it could be genetics.
I bent the main stem with some LST. This is too keep ait around the same height as the SCROG in the same tent but the SCROG plants are leaving it behind.
Not expecting much from this but I'll see how it goes.
I feel like I'm growing a bonsai tree, this Jack Herer is so small.
My current RDWC grows are about 4 times the size in the same amount of time. Could be genetics. Could be My lack of experience with ProMix, or maybe DWC just is better for fast growth.
I've continued some LST on the plant to even the canopy and expose more of the bud sites.
This Jack Herer is a real runt. It's tiny and had very little stretch.
Maybe I got a bad pheno of this one. I'll let it finish only as I have other plants at the same stage (but 5 times the size)
I've LSTed it a little to hopefully maximize whatever bud growth I get on this guy.
This plant should probably be put out of its misery but in deference to the strain, Jack Herer, I'm going to let it finish.
The few grams I get out of it better be incredible. The buds are forming and it's a fairly low maintenance plant. Just really small.
Still a major runt of a plant. All the other plants grown along side it are 4 or 5 times bigger.
Could be genetics. I don't think this is usual for this strain.
I'll run it out anyway.
Jack is hanging in there. The fan leaves are yellowing and dying, probably a little early.
It's been a small plant and likely needs a lot more nutrients than I gave it in this Promix grow.
There's a good big bud on it so not a complete waste.
It never really got started. The Jack herer was a very small plant.
It would have been tossed earlier but since I have never tried the strain before, I left it in the tent with some other plants.
About 12g dried. For reference I usually get about 10 times that in the same tent with RWDC
I likely won't be growing this strain from this breeder again, but I am curious to see how the cured bud turns out.
Maybe it's so good I'll give it another chance in RDWC.
